Forums - Gaming Discussion - Twitch streamer becomes aggressive towards girlfriend while streaming

welp :( hope she presses charges or something, definitely the evidence for it.

Around the Network

Let's just remember that this is going on in countless homes every day without being recorded. Makes me sick to think about it.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

Looks like twitch banned him. I kinda hope that they would report him to the police. http://urbanleak.com/twitch-streamer-banned-after-he-beat-his-girlfriend-on-livestream/

Also here's his youtube channel discussion board if you guys feel like descending on it like bees. Plenty of people are already leaving him all sorts of nasty comments. Luckily his pic is on there. https://www.youtube.com/user/joedaddy851/discussion

The people laughing at it though. What the fuck is their damage?

Some people are like that. For them other people's pain seem to feel so distant that they feel they are watching/hearing a circus.

The guys girls choose. It's because the others are boring.

Why is she with him, is what i'd like to know. What leads to this that didn't pass through a phase to call it quits?

Domestic abuse is a complex issue. Ususally abusers don't start the physical abuse right away. They first strip their victim of confidence and isolate them from their friends and family. Usually they try to establish an economical dependence too. For example by buying a house toghether in the middle of nowhere. There's usually heavy psychological abuse undermining the victims self assertion and convincing them that they don't deserve to be helped, that the abuser just has their best intersts at heart and that it's their own fault when they get abused.

A lot of abusers have an unconcious ability to brainwash people like that, likely because they were abused themselves as children and picked up these behavioural patterns.

You'll notice that this piece of shit used that exact same rhethoric in his 'apology' post on instagram. 'She started it.' 'I did what I had to do.'

If a victim doesn't leave after the first physical assault happens, it's usually very hard to break through the vicious circle of abuse and self blame that victims typically go through. It can take years to fully recover from shit like that, if you do get out.

Yeah, pretty much this. Some are also damn scared to leave their asshole partner since they fear what he will do to them or relatives. There is a reason why we have so many women's shelters, it's a place where they can feel at least a little bit safe but if such a woman is scared about what this asshole could do to their parents, siblings or even kids they may just stay with him and take all the pain alone to protect the rest of the family.

That was infuriating to listen to.

Yeah... it's just infuriating to see people beeing that weak. Especially if they have a family, they have to be able to say no. Just call it quits, go back to your family, even if its shameful. Its better than suffering through abuse for years on end.

This recording is not sufficent evidence unless she has some bruises to show for. Talking disrespectfully and someone screaming in an audio recording is not a crime however it will be a strong indication for a crime if she has some other proof of abuse.

Which is why I think its  very important for partners not to be dependant financially on each other.
