For a point of refrence, the PS3 sold roughly 7 million units since the PS4 came out.

Thats because the PS3 is still like 260-270$ most places.

Playstation 2 hit 99$ back in like 2008 ? and still sold decently.

PS4 the normal version could probably drop below 200$ eventually.

Ps4's life cycle should extend to 2022-23 maybe even 24'. Why are you limiting it to three years?

Probably from thinking that console gens are around 5 years long but that's only the average time til a successor comes out. I guess most people forget that playstation console lifecycles are really long.

It depends on how far they are willing to go with the whole incremental upgrade thing like ps4 Neo and etc. If they do it a few more times, then sure but if its only ps4 + Neo and then ps5 after, then no

PS2 was the peak of greatness in terms of video game console sales. No console will ever replicate that. The standard will be that all future PS consoles will surpass the PS1(over 100 million) if Sony doesn't screw things up. So no, I don't think it will pass the PS2, but the PS1 instead(and obviously Wii).

Not gonna happen, because they simply don't have a stranglehold on the market like they did back then.

Big games aren't exclusive, PC is a bigger factor due to Steam and Japan isn't the force it once was.
