Too bad there wasn't a thread that pinned down all the people here who believed Nintendo was intending to support the Wii U for a full 5 year cycle and didn't drop it like a red-headed stepchild in favor of the NX years ago.
That was the real crux of the argument, Nintendo delaying something a few months isn't really any kind of meaningful debate because Nintendo can delay anything at any time and everyone knows that. Miitomo, a freaking smartphone app, got delayed by 2-3 months, lol. Arguing over that is like arguing over whether or not it will rain at some point this spring.
The debate was always whether Nintendo had internally abandoned the Wii U prematurely in favor of fast tracking the NX project ... and it's clear now they did bail out. This is why E3 2015 sucked balls, this is why E3 2016 is a complete embarrassment for Nintendo, this is why you're never getting a (non-shit) Animal Crossing or Metroid or Mario Galaxy 3 on Wii U, this is why most of Nintendo's core internal teams have not had a new Wii U project announced in almost two full years now (this should have been a pretty big fucking red flag) -- mystery solved.
