Then he got all heated up and says why should i get over it it happened. I was like it didn't happen directly to you or even your parents, yet my grandparents were impacted by WW2 and guess what I don't go around hating every German like they did. His answer to that was you should. My response to that was well think about it South Sudan is currently and has been on and off in civil war for over 20 years, shouldn't you be hating the people causing the shit currently in your country and not someone else's history. Yet his hate for white people was still greater.

In the end i basically ended it on well reason you should get over it as previously mentioned is because throughout history everyone took over everyone at some point in time. If we held grudges for the past generations then no one in the world would get along. Ten he wouldn't talk to me for week cause he hand no response lol

And while I do agree with your sentiment. Many whites will espouse this notion as it pertains to whites and slavery but won't give non-offending Muslims the same courtesy when some terrorist on the other side of the world commits an atrocity in the name of Allah.

I've always thought the idea that people who never actually committed a crime should be held responsible is ridiculous, especially when they weren't even born when the crime was committed. Like whites were the only race to ever own slaves.

I disagree. That is to say that whites can definitely be discriminated against. Although listening to the far left they would have us believe that is the case due to some invisible systemic race armour apparently

anything and everyone can be discriminated against. No logically sound person with a brain is going to make such a claim regarding white people. In the end skin color is just one of many things that people can be discriminated for though.

Any person claiming this statement is incredibly ignorant and (quite ironically) a total hypocrite of the own stances of which they fight and supposedly stand for. 

Your average white guy in an impoverished community with a lot of minorities (just how it often is, as unfortunate as that may be) is going to be constantly called 'cracker' and bugged in schools or on the street. 

I would debate that casually speaking whites are equally as 'discriminated' against as any other minority. In terms of job opportunities and more real world things maybe its not quite equivalent yet, but at any rate everyone can be discriminated against for a million different factors.

 

In the end the point should be that discrimination is not okay for ANY reason (if reasonable applicable, obviously you might 'discriminate' against someone if they were a criminal somewhat justifiably), anyone pointing the discussion towards "such and such group of people can't be discriminated against" just has a totally flawed concept of things and frankly is pretty stupid

a) there were white slaves, and

b) there were black slave-owners

Yeah. I've been told I should feel bad about what "my" people (white Americans) did to black people before. It's like, bitch, my ancestors weren't even in this country 50 years ago v.v XD before that they were all in Sweden x.x So I claim no responsibility for anything involving the American slave trade x.x

I've said it before. Won't go into a long rant.

I started off super poor in rural Georgia.  Right now, I make over three times the average income of a whole family in my area. I didn't feel sorry for myself or blame anyone. I don't respect anyone who doesn't grab ahold of their situation in life instead of blaming others for "holding them back".I got mine. 

Sorry people take one look at you and blame you for something you had absolutely no fault in. America has become the land of victims and I hate that.

Swedish people probably participated in slave trade though

(Not that you should apologize for that reason, just sayin')

I don't have a source, but I do know for sure that Denmark-Norway (we were in a "union" (read: they controlled our country) with those danish jerks back then! ) participated in the slave trade.

Also @OPs question, of course white people can be discriminated against, though I have a hard time imagining there's much legit discrimination against whites going  in the west. I don't consider jokes against either race to be discrimination, so maybe the problem then is that some people are too PC to makes jokes about black people? Norway is a pretty PC country, but our humour is hardly PC, with the exception of a few stuck-up people. Don't let the few stuck-up people ruin your day mate!
