My guess is they will release it on the same day as its reveal. It turned out great for the 360S, så why not for and X1 slim.
My hope: remove the Blu-ray player, dump the price to $149 without a game and get a great entry console to this generation. Highly unlikely to happen, but one can dream :).

Its really not that much bigger than the original Xbox 360 or the first two PS3 models. The only real nuisance is the power box. But its a very quiet console! |
I don't think they are going to get rid of the power brick anytime soon. Power Supplies are one of the top 3 reasons computers fail, so making it easily replacable is not really a bad thing.
I think it's going to be a slim. But a slim without a blu-ray would be quite a surprise. The market might just be ready for it.

Yeah, the power brick is staying but I don't understand they're so big. I could easily beat someone to death with my X1 power brick.
No way they're going to get rid of the Bluray drive. Most sales are still physical and a crucial part of 360 BC.

I must be in the minority then, i actually like the X1 design. At least it has a big ass fan for reliability and quietness.

Don't the games use the blu-ray discs?

I do too but damn, it's big.
I wouldn't mind a smaller one... Eventually.

Not really, all the games run from the Hard Drive. The blu-ray is just the DRM and the initial install.
But with so many large patches patches, I would say most all games now are digital download - even if you have the bluray.
