I hate that OoT and TP are considered "realistic". They may be more detailed than other games in the series but are still heavily stylized.

I like to think it because of hardware limitations and to keep a resamblance to the pprevious entrys. What they should have done is slowly move away from it, like after twilight princess, skyward sword should have looked more realistic and now on wii u have a totally realistic zelda.

I have to agree with Aonuma. I really dislike the look of Wind Waker, but I dislike the game for other reasons too, such as its lack of challenge. After playing and beating the game, I understood what Nintendo was doing: they were aiming for the <10 yr old market in the same way Star Wars Episode 1 was. They were trying to introduce Zelda to a new generation of gamers.

Cell shading has it's place, as I didn't find Skyward Sword as obnoxious with it (plus Skyward Sword was a lot more thorough and challenging of a game with some excellent gameplay design).

I'm on the fence of getting TPHD, because I already played and beat the game, and I have other unfinished games to beat yet. But maybe before long, I'll get it. It definitely feels like the true successor to Ocarina of Time to me.

Ocarina of Time is not necessarily what I could consider to be "realistic" and yet it seems to be the most loved one.

I loved Ocarina Of Time graphic but I really didn't like Twilight Princess graphic.

He talked about time when they developed Zelda TP not about current time. It's well known that Zelda TP with "realistic" graphics is somehow forced after bad reception of WW art style even WW later become one most beloved Zelda's and art style praised. Also we have two Zelda games after TP that don't have realistic graphic.

Always with an excuse. Aonuma admitted that realistic Zelda has a better response, then, now and always.

Not a surprise if you look at the sales of both Wind Waker and Twilight Princess.

But I dig more a cartoonish style.

TP launched with a system with 5x the installed base.

OT: He's just saying people responded well to that style at the time. At no point did he ever claim what the title does. Zelda U is proof this idea is a falacy, as is the reception of WWHD vs. the reception of TPHD. Keep playin' though.

Spinning already? Doesn't matter. The head already admitted. Whatever you want to spin is not official, like his words. Realistic has a better response.

Excuse!? Excuse for what!? I giving you clear fact, that interview is about development of original TP, so all he said is referd to that, not about current time. Whole interview is about past time, not curent.

Realistic response > cartoon response

Fact.

Officially confirmed by Eiji Aonuma.
