And...........why is that?

Nintendo will finally make a shit lot of Money and Millions of Millions Player can enjoy the only thing Nintendo really does well, their Games !!! #BestForBusiness

Finally!? Last gen they had most successful generation in history of gaming, they sold around 255m of hardware and almost 2 billions of software, and you think Nintendo would be better like third party only because Wii U is selling bad!?

Also one of reasons is why their games are so good is Nintendo hardware, because they always design hardware with mind on their games.

No. If it was released at the same time and is similarly powered, maybe. It's too little too late. I just hope it isn't what people start referring to as 9th Gen. It's still WAY too early in this Gen to say the next has started. If it's categorized right, Nintendo will have two consoles this generation.

It depends... if the NX replaces the 3DS it will probably signal the start of a new generation.

If it shares games with it's handheld counter part? Why would the sales be separate? Obviously Ninty wants majority of the games they make be available to their full userbase. NX home and handheld will not have their sales split because they share the same games. That will make catching them a whole lot easier.

Sounds like the canniablization of the Vita at the hands of the PS3. Its also harder to focus on two platforms when you cannot even arrage healthy third party for one of them.

Depends on the product, if they utilize the same software such as both are completely digital plats or both use cartridges then no they aren't cannibalizing each other. Ps3 and vita played different games.

Nope. Nintendo will be lucky if their next console manages to sell as much as the Wii U.

I think it nearly impossible to repeat all mistakes Nintendo made with Wii U again, especially because after terrible Wii U sales with NX they will much better job in order to have much better sales.

When we talk about NX sales, IMO only certain thing is that NX will have much better sales than Wii U.

This line of logic doesn't always work this way though.

For example I remember everyone saying there's no way the GameCube could sell less than the N64, it had addressed the major problem of the N64 which was cartridges, was easy to program for (another big problem of the N64), had Resident Evil exclusivity and lots of other developer support ... and yet it ended up selling way less than the N64.

Ditto for the Dreamcast, which in the end didn't sell much better than the Saturn despite being a much better system.

No Nintendo console will have to come from further behind than the NX will.

I love Nintendo games but have been disappointed with the last 2 Nintendo home consoles. Both severely underpowered and over-priced for such weak tech.

12 million may not seem like a lot of consoles but considering the absolutely dire spec, pathetic cpu power, weak mobility graphics, ultra slow bandwidth memory, lack of hard drive and a clumsy over-sized controller that is truly awful for the people who often get Nintendo consoles, children it seems to me Nintendo have done very well. Then add lack of support with only really first party games worth getting.

I feel Nintendo still have the power to sell a huge number of consoles they just need to stop trying to sell dire hardware at inflated prices. Before the wii they were competitive in tech.

I'm really hopeful that their next console will be something really worth getting as I feel the wii u failure was a total shock to Nintendo and hopefully they realise they need to be more competitive.

A decent console with a great launch title would be a solid start.

I see no reason why the NX couldn't quickly outsell the xbone on a monthly basis and give the ps4 a bit of competition especially if NX versions of the same games as PS4 are actually superior in some ways which is definitely possible.

I would be happy with 40 million. But what would third parties be happy with is the question? Wii sold a lot but did not give them good results. People have to buy there games.

40 million is honestly asking for a lot I think. That's almost as much as the SNES.

Yes, and GC actually was quite good console, but for GC problem was best selling console in world, PS2. But after GC we had best seling Nintendo console ever.

But Wii U was bloody mess in every possible way, you can't compare any Nintendo console in number of mistakes Nintendo made with Wii U, thats why Wii U will be worst selling Nintendo console.

Like I wrote, I think it nearly impossible to repeat all mistakes Nintendo made with Wii U again, especially because after terrible Wii U sales with NX they will much better job in order to have much better sales. If their next console is going to suffer from a crapload of issues, just like the WiiU, then of course it won't sell well. I'd like to believe that Ninty actually has learned a damn thing from the WiiU though..

I'd like to believe too. However after the 3DS launch, Iwata said that they had leaned their lessons and they wouldn't make the same mistakes when lauching their next hardware. We all remeber the disaster that was the Wii U launch. They're sometimes so stubborn. Hopefully Nintendo can pull it off.

After the 12 million the WiiU sold, they would have to be crazy to repeat all those issues.

No it doesn't. And I firmly believe this will be the last generation for Nintendo has a hardware manufacturer.

As of now it's not in Nintendo's interest to defeat XB1/PS4 but instead to:
1-fix all the BS they did with the Wii U (and partially with the Wii too);
2-sell moderately well (30-40M units sold would be ok IF it's a home console)

exactly. Nintendo competing within the confines of an arbitrary "generation", is the last thing on the agenda of a company fighting for relevance.  After the massive drop from DS/Wii, Nintendo will  consolidate their efforts under the NX platform, and hopefully provide a sw lineup powerful enough to make their hw a must buy.
