Forums - Sales Discussion - Most disappointing game of 2015, sales-wise?

Based on hype, marketing and expectations, what game of 2015 underperformed massively according to sales.

Mmmm... Metal Gear Solid V? I mean, the game is trending somewhere over Metal Gear Solid 4 during the same time, but I can't shake the feeling that it was hyped to sell much, much better.

Yeah as I said the game before would've done better as a PS4 console timed exclusive so they didn't have to face Destiny DLC. It would've done well during April or July. But Alas.

And another one, Halo 5.

Had the crappiest marketing campaign ever. No focus on chief, and they ended all of that as soon as the game released. No standard bundle as well. Total wasted oportunity....

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Rise of the Tomb Raider?

Even if world wide, with 360+XB1, physical + digital downloads, it has hit 1m,
I think most people thought way back that it would sell more.

Rise of the Tomb Raider should have been way better.

People and most probably MS execs expected it to be the Xbox One killer app during Xbox record all time exclusive lineup for the holidays. We thought it was going to trump the other Halo games based on Xbox One userbase and the IP bestseller status.

Rise of The Tomb Raider and Halo 5 sales are not what they should have been. Easily in the top 5 games of last year yet both were treated like fodder by MS's marketing department.

Halo 5 right from its reveal was just baffling. Silly trailers, showing dull gameplay moments and live action trailer that had pretty much nothing to do with the actual game. .

mario tennis! nvm that was doomed to fail lol :(

id have to go with Rise Of The Tomb Raider as well

Rise of the Tomb Raider, then again they never gave it a chance by releasing it at the same time as fallout 4
