Written text is not the same as spoken words. Text (and spoken words) can be very easily misunderstood but unlike a spoken conversation you can write too much before you get a reaction and can modify your words.
I guess you do not use very much profanity when speaking to a priest or a police (and I hope you do not use it when speaking to your mother).
You talk differently to your buddies than to someone you want to hook up with.
On forums you often do not know who you are addressing.

Well it depends on what's being said. For instance, if you say black people love watermelon I'm not offended by that stereotype. Hell, I've never met a where person whom doesn't love watermelon. But if you say black peoples are lazy then that offends me. Why? Because I'm black and I'm not lazy but you're telling me that I am. Also, while I don't support BLM I'll say this: They say offensive things and expect people to think its ok just like any group that offends them says offensive things and expects it to be OK. 2-way street.

But yes, I've dubbed 2015 the most offensive year of all time simply because everyone seemed to be offended by one thing or another. Different things offend different groups because of the history of the thing. But some things I see people being offended by leaves me scratching my head.

Sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me.... I remember that saying in the school yard, damn I miss it when calling a name couldn't hurt someone.

I once offended a whole horse riding community because I called one a glue pot.

He tought it was offensive, you tought it was funny, so you are a happier person. So you got that going for you which is nice. Anyhow back to the topic you should be able to say whatever you please. If you can't even do that anymore what's the point of freedom of speech in the first place. Humor and Satire should be defended by the people not largely critisized because it isn't politically correct.
