When this thread was made Nintendo provided shitty video of the game (in a tv in a video).

I'm not so sure about the first part. Even Skyward's Sword, which got a lot of hate, has a Metascore of 93.

I want to make same post, not to mention that Skyward Sword wasn't exactly either technically impressive game in 2011, so most likely we talking about metascore of around 95 for Zelda BotW.

So... the newer entry in one of the most critically acclaimed and most popular franchises ever, that has yet to deliver a home console game that scores lower than 90 on MC. An entry that is aiming to surpass every game on the franchise in every aspect (gameplay, size, graphics...) and actually looks that can do it... against a new IP that, while being impressive from a visual perspective, has a lot to prove in every other aspect, from gameplay to story to soundtrack. Hmm... that's a tough one.

It's true that we cannot judge a game that hasn't been released yet. However, with Breath of the Wild we have precedents. And all of them are positive to say the least. And, what we have seen of the game looks very promising. So, at the question asked in this post right now, I have to answer that Breath of the Wild has a lot of possibilities to surpass Horizon in Metacritic.

As for sales, Horizon will sell more than BotW on Wii U. But BotW will have an NX version, and that version alone will probably sell more than Horizon if Twilight Princess is anything to go by.

As for graphics, Horizon hands down. Artistically, both are really good.

Graphics side it's even silly to say Horizon isn't better... sales and critic reception I don't know which will end up winning, but I see Horizon having a good shoot, and I know I'll play it.

This is no brainer. PS4 is the king of this generation. Plus Sony will push their first party game. So sales wise this will be a piece of cake for Horiaon Zero Dawn."



A prediction is a prediction but i wouldn't say its a no brainer.

~ We dont even know how much of a success/bomba the NX will be (or just be inbetween)
~ Sony is King yet Nintendo Software Sales for Certain Games show that even with a shit userbase (under 13mil?) it still has very good sales (MK8 at 7.5mil+). So thats kinda invalid right there. (Another Ex is 3DS which PS4 will likely double but wont have as many 10mil sellers as it does).
~ Zelda BotW was surprisingly a very good showing, which also had many things removed to prevent spoilers. What im saying is unlike past recent Zelda Games, this game might pull off many incredible feats (saleswise)

Horizon could be still #1 in sales but lets not act like its a no brainer. I bet many wouldn't have thought for Ex that Splatoon would be higher than Bloodborne? (or in a rare case H5)

Horizon looks cool but i think Zelda wins both ( meta + sales ) easy.
Talking about sales, PS4 exclusives simply aren't as big as Nintendo exclusives, bigger exclusive on PS4 is gonna fight pretty close with Mario Kart 8, which is the bigger exclusive on Wii U but with a way less userbase.

The hype for this Zelda is big, it is surely gonna be in the TOP 3 of the series, this if NX is a successfull or not. ( if it is then even better )

As for the meta, i expect this Zelda to be at/close to 95. I just don't see Horizon be that big...

Metacritic wise, zelda wins hands down.

Sales, it will all depend on how well the nx is received. By being alaunch game on nx, it will most likely sell almost 1:1 with nx since we have heard of nothing else coming with the nx. In the begining of course.

Graphics, horizon hands down. Like it was said before, some here like cel sahded animated looks, but remember that the majority of the market does not and thats wat really matters. Dark and realistic games are what most consumers like.

Judging by the gameplay trailers of both games at E3 2016: Horizon environment looks very boring and messy while BotW looks clean and fresh. Despite they are saying that Horizon is an open world game the linearity in the gameplay footage is obvious. It will not be easy for Horizon...
