Remasters don't sell systems. Nintendo needs to sell NX systems. Like it or not, NX launching day and date with the new Zelda is from a sales POV the best move. Hell, honestly I think they should follow the Wii example and delay the Wii U version even further just to force Nintendo fans to have to buy the NX to play it first. 

It worked well for the GameCube-Wii transiton. 

Twilight Princess wouldn't have sold as well or had the same impact on the Wii had it come out 6-8 months later as a port. Sony can afford to not have the greatest launch windows because they have an established track record of basically having 100% third party support with the demographics (Madden, COD, GTA, Final Fantasy, etc. players) to go with it. 

They can afford to do things like launch Last of Us late in the PS3's cycle because honestly their 1st party IP are secondary. Nintendo does not have this luxury. 

Nintendo's own fanbase is also very stubborn on their own and can get caught up in the "unless there's a new Mario or Zelda with this new system I ain't buying sh*t until I get that!", which is problematic.


Sucks that "luxury" didn't go into their handhelds.

I'm confident it will come to Wii U, less confident it will be Wii U exclusive.

It's one thing for Nintendo to push out rushed spin-offs, it'd be another to push their most hotly anticipated title for Wii U onto another system.

It will definitely come to Wii U but it won't be exclusive.

The only doubt I have is that Zelda U will be cross platform. I am 100% confident that it will still be on the Wii U. There is no way they will drop it, nor can they really. After confirming it for so long, if they dropped it now, they would only largely piss off the small but dedicated base they have. So yeah, I am sure it will come, but also be NX to be something worthwhile to buy.

Yeah, I basically agree with everyone here... the question shouldn't be about whether or not it comes to Wii U, but whether it comes to the next system too, like Twilight Princess.

If Nintendo were to cancel Zelda for Wii U, it would be a massive publicity nightmare.

I THINK it will still come to the Wii U but i feel sure they will do the same thing as LOZTP  which is release it 1ST on the NX and delay the Wiii U version a few weeks after to entice people to buy the NX -  they may also make the NX version the "definitive" version

either way i don t trust Nintendo

I'd rather it be the awesome launch title for the Nintendo NX than a swan song on the Wii U.  The Nintendo NX will have a more powerful hardware to improve the game play.  Time to face a harsh reality about the Wii U....it has ended up in thrid place behind even the amazingly crappy XBox One.  Unlike Microsoft, at least the exclusive titles for the Wii U were actually fun to play.  Nintendo can take solace that even the Playstation 4 isn't doing the numbers that the original Wii did.  I've never understood why anyone would want's a PS4 either, having to buy all new games at $60 a pop (and they all suck monkey balls) with zero backwards compatibility to the PS3.  After thanksgiving dinner my kids have dusted off the Super Mario Galaxy disks for another year of frantic Mario fun, and that game was only $50 - seriously good value.

So, now that nintendo has it's (every other) dud out of the way, lets all move on to the Nintendo NX....Zelda too.

95% sure. They would seriously piss off a large chunk of their fanbase if they didn't.

I bought the console partly for this game. Even they ditched it, I just wouldn't buy an NX.
