Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why do people want Link to be a girl?

There was some girl on IGNs NVC the other day Kallie Plagge I think her name is. And she was sooooo annoying saying she would like Link to be a girl claiming he has always been an ambiguous character... To claim he is an ambiguous character is just retarded there is really no other way to put it. He is a boy or a man and has always been one. It has always been obvious from Ocarina of time to Smash Brothers that  he is cleary male there is nothing ambiguous about it.. The girl is a moron. Why don't we make samus a boy? SIKE! I would hate that because Samus is a clearly defined character. Sorry for the rant but I get so annoyed and really hope Nintendo never panders to these cry baby girls.

There's a lot of horny gamers here and there who can't shake away the craving of having everything wear a skirt.

Also others would like to shake things up a little I suppose.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

Personally i am all for female protagonist and i have no issues playing with them, but i'd rather they use already established female characters or create new ones, changing male into female serves no purpose in my opinion

Because a female link is more political correct for some BS reasons. Would be the first girl which shuts her mouth for an entire game though. But you should adres this question at Marvel entertainment they are very good at changing existing characters so maybe they have better reasons like sales.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

I have no damn idea..  Link is fine enough the way he's! There's no need for him to be a female.

It is revenge for "Save the girl, don't play like one."

If it happens, the franchise is over.

Maybe they're tired of playing as male, who knows.

It's a 1-2 combo of:
1) Feminist social justice. (Girl saving another girl, we don't need guys! Wait, that still shows weakness, girl saving a boy then!)
2) The Lara Croft effect. (aka, "if I'm gonna stare at character's ass for 30 hours, I'd rather it be a chick").

There's also extra folks not actually in the market for Zelda games (never played them or don't play them any longer) chiming in because hey, why not.

Because a female protagonist is better in all scenarios. Bonus points if it's a female only group.

And no, that's not sarcasm, that's a fact.
