Forums - Gaming Discussion - Star Wars: Battlefront Online Stats (PS4 Leads)

Its a little thing called COD on both current gen consoles. Not much play but the PS4 naturally leads. The XBox being the shooter box means nothing if a multiplat had the majority of the audience.

I've had Battlefront since launch, I've not bothered playing it until 1am yesterday where I played for an hour or so. Not having an sp made me lose all interest in the game.

I wonder how many other people are there who bought the bundle for the console and just have the game sitting around doing nothing.

There's no single player at all? I'm thinking of either buying the star wars battlefront PS4 bundle or that uncharted PS4 bundle. I'm probably gonna go with the star wars bundle to try that game out but if I don't like it, I'll trade the game in.  I could wait for black friday but I don't feel like dealing with the chaos.

Those low numbers are good. That means the young generation of gamers are expanding their taste in gaming.

It's no longer shooters all the time.

These numbers when looked at alone merely imply one of two things

A) Battlefront 3 underperformed sales wise.

B) Battlefront 3 is having a tough time retaining its user base.

However, when you look at the sales of other first and third person military type shooters there does appear to be an overall decline in sales. So where are those sales going? This is the gen of the RPG.

Fallout 4 just destroyed its predecessors launch sales. It will undoubtedly surpass them lifetime.

The Witcher 3 just destroyed its predecessors launch sales.

Dragon Age Inquisition was met with critical acclaim this gen.

A 'niche' RPG known as Bloodeborne was met with critical and commercial success.

So looking at the bigger picture, you're probably right

God Frikken damn I hope you're right!

yep yep. I enjoy shooters, but much prefer a variety of genres. RPGs are my favorite. So them coming back to the top like in the old PSX days would be welcome to me.

PS4: 179,511 (24h peak: 187,286)

XBOXONE: 110,704 (24h peak: 110,817)

PC: 41,425 (24h peak: 49,871)

These numbers are from "people playing right now" right?

So its kinda hard to say anything sales related from it, maybe a hour lateron, numbers are very differnt and more xbox one users are playing... or something?

Also just because 320k are playing "right now", doesnt mean it only sold 320k.... There could be 10 times that amount, that just play differnt hours.

less than 200k is actually disappointing for any of those platform.. honestly i was expected a ton more.

^ those numbers are from server loads, and indicate how many people are playing "right now" (within last 5 minuets).

It doesnt mean it only sold 200k on that platform.

Fallout 4 peaked at like 450,000 users at the same time on STEAM alone (PC/computer). obviously these Star Wars number seem kind of mediocre when one considers that consoles generally you expect to have a bigger of simultaneous users at this point at launch

You could always buy your console online on black friday, and avoid the madness.

Not surprising considering there isn't a big AAA shooter for PS4 this holiday outside of blackops.

Lol nothing to do with there being 28 million ps4s out there compared to 15 million xboxOnes then, absolutely nothing to do with that, nope.

I'm trading in my old ps3 to knock off an extra $100 off the price tag at gamestop. So that will put it at $250. If I trade in that battlefront game, I would only have spent $220 on the console.

If I wait til black friday or that weekend, another $50 will taken off and that would put in the $170 to 200 range depending on if I trade that game in shortly.

Impatience versus thriftiness. $220 to 250/play now versus $170 to 200/play a week later & deal with BF chaos. I'm not a very patient person when I'm close to getting what I want.

True but I'm trading in my PS3 to take advantage of some extra trade-in credit bonus.

If you're trading in your PS3 why don't you do what I did and sell all your PS3 games too?
