okay then it looks bad on purpose. Doesn't make it any better.

If you want Game of Thrones then stick to Game of Thrones.  Warcraft is stylized and is supposed to invoke high fantasy rather than realistic fantasy.  It wouldn't be Warcraft otherwise.  It's like picking up Ratchet & Clank and saying it's bad because the characters don't look real.  That doesn't make much sense to me.

If you're saying that you'd only like it if it were realistic, that's fine, but all it means is that it's not for you, not that it's bad.

On topic, I'm looking foward to this, though I'm not sure how much deep this film is supposed to go into the story.  I want the Scourge!

He said that the animations and VFX are bad, not that the characters need to look real. The trailers does scream low-budge film. Is this film going to have a theatrical release or it's straight to DVD/Blu-ray ?

Calling it now. There will be a Doom-style scene where someone's issuing orders and the camera goes up into a bird's eye view and we can see the different troops responding and moving around like it's an RTS, and it will be really stupid.

As for the trailer though, yeah, a lot of that CG looks pretty cheap. The green screen guy jumping off the cliff to land on the flying thing was terrible. Probably just not a very big budget.

Ha, no, this is Blizzard.  They do it right or they don't do it at all.  Money is no object.  That's why this has been in the works for 10 years.

This, Blizzard aren't going to fool around with their own baby. I mean if we look back on all their cutscenes and trailers, even their Overwatch trailer heavily reminded me of Pixar quality animation. Blizzard do a really good job at giving us really good trailers/cutscenes.

OT: Still hyped as fuck that we're finally getting a Warcraft movie. My one hope is that with recent news of them bringing back their older games will hopefully mean we get Warcraft 1 and 2+Frozen throne by the time the movie launches, that would be make my year for sure.

Don't judge the CGI from a crappy quality YouTube video.

I think it looks great, like the movie really works. Perhaps the scope isn't as big as a LOTR movie but they seem to be doing honor to the source material. One of the best trailers I've seen recently.

Not a fan of fantasy movies or warcraft but this looks quite good. Im impressed by how emotive those orc things are. They look more human than the humans.

It looks good but I'm worried about how jarring the shift between cgi and humans are. I think they should have gone all cgi like Beowulf with Angelina Jolie.

That being said, I'm a huge warcraft and Fantasy fan so will definitely check it out.

Then I have to assume they had limited time or a bad team of animators.  Either way, it doesn't look great.

Well, I mean, if you consider Industrial Light & Magic bad.  To each their own.

Activision Blizzard is funding the film Legendary pictures and Atlas entertainment are making it and Universal are distributing it.

I know.  Blizzard also has full creative control.

Also I'd like to point out that this movie is mostly going to be geared towards fans and a small bit for casual movie goers. Anyone here who doesn't like Warcraft or WoW isn't going to like this movie as much or is likely to damn it because they don't understand the lore. I don't mean to be rude but not a lot here know much of Warcraft's lore besides the very few on here that played the RTS titles and the MMO (also the books).

100m is a lot of cash, assuming the number is true, throw in some more cash for marketing and you will get a very expensive movie to make. However, the game has been popular for a decade.

and I have no idea how many tickets you have to sell to make a profit so I'll just leave the speculation for someone else lol
