Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Tantalus Port = Could it be Twilight Princess HD?

Do you think its real?

Yes, TP HD is in development by Tantalus 36 46.15%

No, Tantalus is working on another wii u game 42 53.85%

no it was supposed to be a xbox ps port. not a game designed by Nintendo. I think the project is dead. its been too long and should have been announced a long time ago.

-Destiny is hardcore FPS.

-Portal 2 is smaller game than Mass Effect 3 and Deus Ex.

-Yes, but Crysis 3 was simple Wii U port, this title is a complete rework of the old game not just a remastered, game was in work more than 2 years in work. Maybe its moved for NX, but I don't think it completely canceled. Also, Project Cars for Wii U is very likely moved for NX like Slithly Mad Studios said.

-Saying all that, TP HD fits pretty good with infos we have about Tantalus project.

-Destiny is rated T and not hardcore. What about it makes it hardcore? Not all shooters are hardcore...

-The game itself does not have to be huge. If they are doing a remaster of portal 2, then that can still be considered their biggest  project seeing as how it's better than a simple port (mass effect 3 and deus ex)

-Once again, there is nothing stopping the game from being canceled. This may be hard for you to hear, but it is very much a possibility given (a) wii u's install base (b) wii u's audience internal development issues

and yes, TP is a possibility, albeit not a very strong one given that we already had a wind waker, ocarina of time, and majora's mask remake this gen.

-Almost every FPS is hardcore, and Destiny is definitely mature/hardcore with all that violence.

-Maybe, but I cant see why would somone want to port Portal 2 on Wii U, I dont see at all Portal 2 is that game, much bigger chances are for Minecraft than Portal 2.

-Why would be hard for me to hear that!? I all know all that. Again, I think too many time and resources were spent on this project to completely cancel, maybe it's moved to NX (like probably Project Cars) but I don't think is completely canceled.

3DS had two Zelda remakes, Wii U one, but huge dirence is that you can already play TP Wii on Wii U. I am not sure about this TP HD thing, but with this rumors I say chances are around 50%, but TP HD does fits pretty good with infos we have about Tantalus project so it's definitely possibility.

I have doubts Nintendo would hand over Twilight Princess to a Western developer but you never know.

I mean, I could see it, since TP was the most western-catered Zelda by far and ironically one of the least appreciated in the west until right about now.

It'd make sense, if Nintendo had some sort of idea that Zelda U was going to take this long, for them to schedule two different Zeldas to be remade at the same time on Wii U at that point. Plus they're getting heavily milky with Zelda right now (probably to shift focus away from Zelda U being "pretty much showable" at E3 two years ago), so it's not out of the question. I'm okay with the milking, mind you - could've done without another multiplayer Zelda if they're not even gonna put the effort in to make it playable with only two players, but that's neither here nor there.

I'm just hoping this doesn't mean they think this makes up if they're going to delay Zelda U further. If the game has been polished enough to show for two years now, no amount of feature creep should remotely justify a delay into 2017. Sure, I'm happy we've gotten...9 different Zelda releases from 2011-2016 without it but if this amount of Zelda is suppot some sort of consolation for a cross-gen release, I'm buying Zelda U and NX used both times. I won't be mad, just disappointed, and hopefully they'll feel that sting.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

I dont think that posible TP HD have anuthing with Zelda U delay, exept if we are geting TP HD this year.

Also you forgetting that Zelda U was shown in December and said its coming in 2015, but its get delayed in March, so I cant see them delaying game for 2017.

The game will probably be Minecraft...

Feel free to check out my stream on twitch

I thought the Tantalus port was supposed to be a 3rd party game?

-Not every fps is hardcore. In fact, calling destiny hardcore only reinforces the silly belief that children who play games like destiny and halo are "hardcore gamers." Destiny was rated T for a reason (to appeal to more that just the mature crowd), so it is very much a possibility given that that Tantalus only ruled out rated M games.

-Minecraft is also a huge possibility, but that doesn't deter from the fact that portal 2 is a possibility. Why would Portal 2 be a good game for the wii u? Because before splatoon, it's the only fps were the goal wasn't to kill and is very highly rated by most reviewers (still rated better than splatoon). That seems like a great fit for the wii u audience while adding another great 3rd party game.

-One thing you repeat is that too much time and resources have been spent on the game. But given what we were shown, there is no indication of progress being made on the game (nor gameplay, nor trailer, nor screenshot, nor name). Sometimes it's better to cut losses than to continue. The fact that they have said absolutely nothing about their game tells me that this thing got heavy delayed possibly cancelled. Likewise, no mention of it was made in E3. Remember, the video that was supposed to highlight upcoming 2015-2016 games. If progress was made, then they would have shown it to not make their third party presence a skylanders amiibo thing.

-finally, looking back at info they did give. They mentioned that the game was a AAA xbox/ps port, and that they other part of their work was an xbox/ps port of a wii u game. So despite the very little info they gave us, TP does not fit

my thoughts:
Even if its arguable if destiny is hardcore or not, they wouldnt use the specific words "no hardcore game" for a game like destiny. The game is still a online multiplayer shooter. You also need to be 16 years + in europe to be allowed to purchase the game.

I dont know what they would need to "rework" in minecraft, so i dont think its minecraft. Also minecraft wouldnt need that long to be released.

Just so you know, the PEGI is more of an indication (mostly for parents) than a rule or a law. Legally 6 year old kid can go to a shop with 50 bucks and purchase GTA V.
