Combat evil with evil. That's the human spirit! ;)

So... why exactly have they not been arrested yet?

Around the Network

That's disgusting. Clearly, the dog wanted to stay.

Some of the reactions on this thread are more extreme than these extremists.

And that is why I will always hate ARA types like PETA. How the fuck can you take away the one thing a man has left in this world, just to satisfy your own self righteous slacktivist agenda. These people are probably too lazy and too chicken shit to go anywhere where actual animal abuse occurs. They just picked an easy target, right before they go to Starbucks and sit on their fucking laptops all day, pretending they're actually doing some good in the world. They'll get theirs one day.

Oh god, that poor man. And the poor dog, too.
The utter contempt shown for a another human beings life and well being by these activists is appalling. If they wanted to help the Dog, they should have tried to help the man. He was clearly fond of that dog and the dog seemed well fed, and cared for, as well as content to stay with him.
Even if he indeed is not a homeless man, but a Roma 'using' (how do you even use a Dog for begging? Did it do tricks or something?) it for begging that's still no reason TO STEAL ANOTHER PERSONS DOG. You might not agree with his chosen 'occupation' but that doesn't entitle you to steal from him.
While there are horrible abusers out there, or people just plain ill-equipped to care for their animals, most people are genuinely fond of their pets and love them like family members. This is amplified a lot if the person is homeless and the dog is their only companion. The homeless guys in my aeria often take better care of their dogs than of themselves.
This might not be animal cruelty, but it's just plain ugly cruelty.

Maybe the police didn't react because the man wasn't doing anything wrong!

Stealing someones dog isn't illegal in France? Why not?

The activists said that they intervened because the police wouldn't. That was what I was referring to.
