I'd say right now I'm 90% sure.

Mainly because the only good reason not to do it is out of respect for the WiiU owners, but let's face it, Nintendo knows that fanboys will eat everything they give them. An frankly, they already did it with TP and got away with it easily.

With TP the Gamecube already had a Zelda title... the Wii U only got a port and a spinoff that is even getting ported to the 3DS (and with more content than the Wii U version).

But yes, I think Nintendo will s*it on Wii U owners. Just look at this forum.

the gamecube has no exclusiv mainline zelda... ww was on the wiiu too and tp was on the wii.(and we dont have a exclusive zelda on the n64 anymore, and its awesome.

and what is fuckn wrong in your head? i love zelda, and i want more people to play it because i want more people to feel the joy i feel when i play zelda.  so im totaly happy when older zelda games come to newer nintendo consoles.

the only problem i could see with a early zelda u release on the nx is that they may switch the focus to the nx, that would suck, but i doubt they will do that.

Bravo, I also don't understand anger of some people if Zelda U isn't Wii U exclusive, they acting like Zelda U will not come at all on Wii U.

Nintendo is doing a good financial decision with this. The problem is not the bussiness department, but the Zelda team. They are the ones that took a lot of time to develop a game and wasted time with other minor ones that nobody asked for. If they've focused on this game and worked hard we could have got at 2014 or 2015, but they were lazy and stubborn believing the userbase will be happy with TWWHD and Triforce Heroes rather than a new one. Now that the next hardware is ready to launch and this game has more money and time invested is only logic to try to recoup all of it porting to a new hardware.

You need to realise that Zelda U is first HD, most open world and most ambitious Zelda till date, so they certainly need time. Saying that, I think if they more focus and little speed Zelda U development maybe we could have the game in Q4 of this year, but with all this NX staff, other Zelda projects and scope and complexity of Zelda U we will have game next year, and thats fine with me because I know it will be great game and I certainly don't want to be rushed in any sense.

WiiU existed in 2003?

I think its about a 90% chance

I fully expect Zelda will be cross-platform. Some degree of cross-platform software support is guaranteed to be part of Nintendo's future, after all.

Yeah, via emulation like the Xbox One.

I expect all of WiiU's digital software to be compatible with the NX. Why spend resources doing the VC handheld on the WiiU? Because the first NX device will be a handheld.

Zelda, just like any other Nintendo title will be compatible via the VC.

If Zelda U comes on Wii U it will be a crap port.

I don't care as long as long as we get it on WiiU%

but I think it's realistic to expect it.

What better way to get back a hardcore audience into the Nintendo bandwagon than a New Zelda game as a launch title.

The only better way would be to launch with Zelda and the Star Fox that we all want - not the crappy one they are making for the Wii U, then release an F-Zero game 3 months later and nuke the core audience with a glorious Metroid Prime 4 half a year after the launch. Sprinkle that with some more casual games that are cheaper and easy to develop, give us a Mario Kart for the first Christmas, SMG3 some time after, Smash the next Christmas and you have yourself a console that core audience buys into.

Oh, and get all 3rd party games on board in 1080p/60fps - something nobody else can get. Now you're playing with power - again.

Ya I think u are severely overestimating games like Star Fox, F-Zero, Metroid. Each and every F-Zero game sold less than the previous entry to the point where it was selling less than 1 million. Metroid gets a lot of praise on forums but it's pretty damn niche, the series typically sells +/- 1.5 million, it has only surpassed 2 million on 2 occasions (in 1986 & 2002). Star Fox sold big on SNES/N64 but I can't really see a rail shooter selling those types of numbers in this day and age, no matter how good it is, 1-2 million is probably about all it can manage.

I'm not saying Nintendo shouldn't make those games, I would love for Metroid/F-Zero to make a comeback along with Star Fox continuing to get made and improved, I just don't think making those the key launch window titles is the wisest choice.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

it's feeling pretty likely. Though that would likely also hint that NX will be out in 2016. I don't think Zelda will be delayed again to 2017...
