Not sure if this thread has been done before but I would like to get some poll results.

Would you care if you couldn't insert a 3DS cart or Wii U game into their next home/hand held systems?

I wouldn't mind too much and hope they go to a new cart that is shared between both systems.  I'm not an expert (Republicans talking about climate change) but isn't it hard to do BC if they go from Power PC to x86?

I know most probably want to be able to transfer their VC/indie game purchases.  I have a feeling they will do like the Wii U VC and charge a small extra on games alread purchased (or possibly stuck on a Wii U/3DS mode?).  I believe the indie games however will probably be stuck on the Wii U/3DS.  I was almost going to go on a rant of the lack of VC support but that is another time.

So for me no for physical and yes to my VC games (however I wouldn't mind too much having them stuck on my Wii U).  Basically, they need to hire more for their VC team and start porting some damn VC titles...

BC is actually really important to me, but at this point Nintendo is having such an identity crisis that I'm kind of hoping they'll just ditch all the old stuff and start fresh.

I have about the same feeling.  Also, if they go from Power PC to x86 wouldn't they have to have a decently high spec machine to do the BC?  I have no clue about that but I kind of want them to just ditch everything and move on.

It was convenient, but it was never a selling point for me.

No, I wouldn't mind. I keep all my systems so even though I go physical I only need to take out an original system. That said I'd expect that this time, digital content, especially Virtual Console games, go over to the new system.

Not at all. I still own my older systems so the appeal of BC is lost on me.

It would be really nice for the NX to have backwards compatibility, but it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me.

Not in the slightest. In fact, I think there's a decent change it won't, since there's a decent chance it will be all digital.

To be clear though, that means that all digital games, that means VC, indie, and retail eshop purchases, will be transferred to the NX for free.

I would a ltlle becuz i plan to sell my wii u when we know enuff about NX, so i can have some extra cash to buy one.

I'll just keep the old systems if that ends up being the case, no biggie for me.
