If they aren't afraid, they probably should be.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

They really should be. They could easily delay it for a week or even a few days.

because a week later all those guys buying fallout 4 will be done with the game and ready for a new game but certainly couldn't be bothered to buy a game that's a full week old?

i'm sorry but this whole fallout will kill tomb raider thing is silly.   most people will decide which games they are buying this holiday based on their budget and hype for availible games.   release date is such a non-factor, one week won't change a thing.

I think that Fallout 4 will negatively affect TRs sales if they release too close to eachother..

Calling it now, Tomb Raider will be delayed until December 4th and Just Cause 3 will be delayed until late jan/early feb

Not sure if I believe that.
You dont go looking for the up hill road, if theres a easier path to tread.

Imo = Its bad planning on someones part. It is going to effect sales abit.

*The quality of the game will speak for itself*

100% agree with this statement. Let the haters hate, good games sell regardless what's on the market.

It's not really bad planning, the game (and its exclusivity) was planned with competition in mind. They chose holiday to take on Uncharted head-to-head, a very bold choice, showing that they truly believe they can sell a lot of copies.

And that probably would have been a great strategy had Uncharted not gotten postponed. The markets don't overlap, and TR would have actually profited off UC hype, giving XOne users a similar experience. A solid win for TR.

But then, not only UC got postponeded, but another game appeared out of nowhere, a game that not only comes out on XOne as well and competes directly within the user base, but also a game that is currently a bigger brand, has much better goodwill among gamers and the industry itself, and also has not had a game for half a decade (while XOne owners already can play one TR title).

That is why Fallout will definitely beat out TR in sales (even when looking only at XOne). And to end the entire scheduling backfire, MS signs a marketing deal for Fallout, even including a Fallout 3 backwards compatibility copy for free.

It would make all the sense in the world to postpone TR until January (especially since we know that PS4 version is a year away). The only thing standing in the way is --- pride!

(Conspiracy theory: That is why they announced a PS4 version early. It gives them an opportunity to move the XOne version to a better slot, while still having a year advantage)

Yeah, they definitely should be scared.

That's how other publishers felt before GTA5 came out, and we all know how that went.

he forgot that there are more popular games coming out. COD, SW battlefront, fallout and the xb1 favorite halo 5. Good luck.
