Forums - Gaming - Rise of the Tomb Raider to Fallout 4, We Are Not Scared

Ok lets get a few things sorted :)

1. The main guy at games company will obviously say they are not concerned, but I can tell you, there will be staff in that company going "What a bunch of idiots, why are we releasing same time as FO". The Pr side is one thing, the actual truth is usually something else. They have to be positive, thats their job, they would get into trouble if they said something else.

2. OK I know some people are going to say they prefer TR and that FO can wait, or they would never buy it, but what we are talking about here is what the masses will do, not individuals. Lets be honest here, how much press/pr have people seen for TR/FO and what has been the reception? There is no doubt that FO will sell to the masses. TR seems like a secondary or even wait for the price to go down purchase right now.

3. The idea that "They are different games, it won't affect sales".... ok lets get this straight, thats utter BS :D. People buy games based on Hype and what their friends are playing. When FO hits people will be talking about that game. You go into game in the UK you see a PipBoy Model in the front and centre of the store... different levels.

4. Attach rates and buying games. Attach rates are generally low... I mean if we say that the average person has 5 games per console, that means they have only purchased 2.5 games a year. So people are counting pennies when buying games. In these next few weeks we have Cod, Fallout, SW Battlefront, Just Cause, Rainbow 6... people are going to be restricting which games they buy. I don't know what the attach rates are these days, but

Note According to 10 months ago the PS4 attach rate was 4 GAMES per console. That's basically two a year....

OK I know some people will go, "Well i am getting all of them", but again we are talking about the masses. Add onto the mix people buying special editions, buying presents for other people. Games are not cheap, people will make decisions.

5. Big games "Take the Oxygen out of the air". We've seen this many times before, a single big game can make other games sell poorly. They generate hype and make the games steal sales from other games.

Taking into account that the previous entry sold better on PS... this has disaster written all over it. I've already started seeing deals in the USA for $10 off the game... last week I think. This game is going to see price cut by December. I think it's this years "The Crew" the game that gets ignored, along with Need for Speed.
