I was checking this around two years ago. It seems that exchange rates which benefits Nintendo profits makes a problem to Sony profits. 

At Nintendo's overall profit is usually higher then operating profit. At Sonys - overall profit is usually lower then operating profit. I read an explanation that a lot of nintendo costs are still in Japan, so current exchange rates benefits it. And Sony was 'smart' 10-15 years ago and get its costs out of Japan. Which in current sitiuation of exchange rates makes it worse to them. 
That is a very simple explanation and was made around 1.5-2 years ago. But it seems current trend is still something like this.


WeakYen helps Sony because they make most of their revenue outside of Japan.

It's a bit of both, they have a lot of cost outside of Japan but also a lot of revenue, the strong Euro compared to the Yen should definitely help them more though, at least with gaming.

Yikes, 3DS is probably a million overtracked lifetime with these shipped numbers. (Though it kinda makes sense given that it was overtracked last earnings release too, and I don't know if it was adjusted.)

I would say 1.2m!Yes but not properly,also the new adjument must be not for 2015 and be exact...The Stock in Japan is 484k as of 30th of June,Japan it's the best selling region of 3DS overall,so we can assume pretty easily that stock in the NA and EUROPE is smaller than Japan's,so lets suppose 400k for NA,300k for Europe,100k rest of the world,equals to 1.284m!:P

We already know that it must  be adjusted down by 200k in the USA here,which also mean an adjustment for the rest of NA,for europe,at least UK/Germany sales have been prooved right and in France is undertracked quite a lot,for the rest of Europe it must considerably overtracked,in the row is where the most of the surplus is coming,in my opinion!:P

What did you expect?Because,3ds shipments were up by 200k units,and wii u shipments were only down by 40k,it coulb be far worse someone would say,since in the same quarter last year,it was the release of MK8...

People still care about VGChartz? Guys, This site is such a mess, is not even legit talk about how wrong The numbers are... 3DS is probabily overtracked by 1.5-2 Million, but Nobody cares. Same for all console. That's why i will gone from This site, i just expect my neogaf account, around 1 month or less and The bye.

NeoGAF doesn't even try to track numbers. Fact is, if you're leaving to GAF, it should be purely because you think the forum there is better, not because of hardware numbers.

That's why i leaving. No track numbers is 100 billions of time better than tack irrealustical numbers. Seriusly... Some people think that VGC numbers Are a source... Oh godes.
