Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Rise of the Tomb Raider coming to Steam early 2016 and PS4 Holiday 2016

The worst executed moneyhat in history.

Since this was successfully hidden in Microsoft discussion for some strange reason:
MS is out of two suitcases of cash with nothing to show for, as they would have gotten the game released 2015 anyway, it will get slaughtered by Fallout 4 (which MS is marketing as well, so they have a much better system seller there).

As I said in the other thread, I think a year delay was Square's decision rather than MS's. The game was probably planned for a simultaneous PC/PS4 release, but then Uncharted got delayed into that slot, so SE wanted to make as much distance between the two as possible.

But that sucks, it is really a pathetic move from Microsoft, its that Kind of deal that make me sick about them, instead of making réal exclusive , they préfèr to prevent a big game to go on an other platform for 1 year to artificially fill thé end of thé year with a false exclusive

You do realize that Sony did the same thing with Street Fighter V, but not timed, right? *sigh*

And the same that will happen with Final Fantasy VII remaster, but you know, you are the one in denial.

In denial about what exactly? I'm well aware that Sony moneyhatted SFV and FF VII Remake, just like MS moneyhatted Rise of the Tomb Raider and Titanfall. My point was that all of the companies moneyhat games, so it's not fair to hate on just one of them for doing it, you should hate on none of them or all of them.

Just ignore them. It's like talking to a wall.

What an absolutely bizarre time to announce thsi.

Well I was planning on getting the PC version anyway. I can wait a few months.

A year? God damn I would have gotten my "fix" by then...

Strange the PC ver is coming sooner than the PS4 ver. I'm convinced it's due to U4 while SE is trying to recoupe as many lost sales with the PC ver asap

Square announced it again for the 360, so that is where I will begrudgingly play the game as I always said in 2015 (used).  Will possibly buy again begrudgingly in 2016 on PS4... Used.

I don't know about that. Based on the release schedule, the holiday season of 2016 is looking rather busy already on PS4. It seems a bit suicidal to release a year-old game at that point. They might avoid Uncharted 4 but much like this holiday season, there are other games that people will preferentially purchase *cough* Fallout 4 *cough*.

Not sure yet about FF7, it's not exactly the same thing.

FF audience is on Playstation (like TR audience), FF7 is a Playstation game, SE and Sony are working together to "revive console gaming in Japan", and (the most important), the PS4 user base will have even more advance on XBox One user base when FF7R comes out. It could be completly pointless to make a XBox One port. FF Type 0 sales were what, 90% PS4 or something like that ? And the insiders are talking about a SFV kind of deal....

The PC version is obvious, we'll see about XOne.
