[RUMOR?] Digitimes: Supply chain players gear up for NX! Nintendo Wants to Sell 20mil NX Consoles In Its 1st FY? O.o

Is just a rumor. Hope Nintendo is not so crazy...

Even combining handheld and home console, 20 million the first year seems impossible. Unless they manage to get 3rd party support at the level of PlayStation, I see them reaching between 10-15m between the two.

5 mil home form-factor + 15 mil handheld doesn't sound too unreasonable to me.

After the GCN days, i bet this comment would of been funny to after seeing the performance of the Wii :0

If we're going strictly by the first 12 months, like I said before, this is actually not unreasonable for a Fusion platform of some type.

First 12 months actually means basically the first two holiday seasons (assuming a November-ish launch).

3DS in that context sold around 15 million its first 12 months, Wii U was around 5 million. Add those together and what number do you get? Bingo.

Keep in mind too that Nintendo would likely have to have some overage of inventory in their warehouses too, they can't just literally have the exact number of units they plan to ship and nothing left in their warehouses.
