Xbox One did release around 10 months later in several european countries. So it was either a PS4 or nothing as far as consoles go.

And deservedly so.

European market is big,... like as big or bigger than the american one.
Always good to have a big market, and have a 90% marketshare there.

MS need to do something drastic to take back market share in europe, its too big a market to just let it slip away.

Maybe in Zagreb (the capital city). People here (well, kids, to be honest) don't do portable gaming except for mobiles. It's just not something you do, except for Sony fans playing Vita, but that is not widespread either.

At best, you can see some little girls with DSs playing games like Hello Kitty or Peppa Pig, but even those are very rare. Boys play Playstation from a very young age, and girls don't play computer games (yes I'm generalizing, but we are not a very progressive country

But seriously, nobody forced MS to do that, so tough luck for them, give the middle finger to tons of european markets and you get the middle finger back.

Between all 3, home consoles.

Basically nintendo and microsoft have to fight over the last 10-30% in countries, that Sony hasnt taken.

Well, X360 did decently in these parts, but there was only one reason: Piracy.

It was a miracle to find a non-modded console, and the original game sales were probably counted on one hand.
