well it's probably cheaper, but that's the only positive I can find versus tons of reasons that speak against it.

It's not, at least in the US where there's pesky things like "appeals" and "due process".  Don't know about other countries that still have it, but I imagine most aren't quite so concerned with prisoner rights.

Its not cheaper at least in America. The lawyers, investigations, court fees etc. all together costs millions. Its cheaper to put the accused in prision for life then to go through the legal processs of deciding if they deserve the death sentence.

Absolutely not. I think the best we can do is penitentiary rehab. We don't even try to do it, just throw them in the jail and let them rot. Penitentiary system as a whole is failing, and that's sad, some people deserve a second chance. Kill them is just atrocious.

I'd like to say no, but the bigger part of me says yes because many of these criminals truly deserve it.

I wish he could be tortured tI'll he begs for death then keep him alive in a tiny box. I'm for the death penalty but this sounds better.

I say use him for experimentation - use him to find a cure for HIV/Ebola/Diabetes/Alzheimer's, etc. etc.

You know, I was all for a quick, clean death, but this idea sounds way better.

BIG NO for me. I am against the death sentence for multiple reasons, but two in particular.

Firstly I find it inhuman to decide over other people's lives and the death sentence is just a ''justified and legal'' way to murder someone.

Secondly I am an atheist so I believe once you're dead you don't feel or realise or whatever anything anymore, so the worst part about the death sentence is the moment right before you die. In a prison however you have decades, if not your whole life, to think about what you did wrong.

For it. There are just some people this world is better off without them in it. I'd much rather see dangerous violent criminals like this be killed rather than released in 30 years after their 'life' sentence ends.

Plus most criminals get released much earlier than their sentence for good behaviour.

Well, there is this thing called "life without parole". People released early were paroled, and they aren't completely out of the system, since they still have to deal with things such as limitations on what they can own/do, and parole officers. There's also the matter of career: most companies won't be willing to hire a murderer. Or any felon for that matter.

I agree with the death sentence in certain cases (repeat rapists ... violent premeditated murder..... serial murderers... etc).

However, if anyone commits false witness that leads to an execution of an innocent -- that person also gets executed (no leeway).

In my personal opinion - life is not that special. There are near 7 Billion people on this planet and if someone is simply a scourge to society -- remove them like you would a rabid dog.

He has a name, George W. Bush. He bombed nations and killed people for oil and yet he has a retirement pension and he's not even in prison. Actually, he's not the only one who deserves a trial... And, yet, I wouldn't kill him in cold blood.

Of course -- the whole oil argument. It always comes back to that.

I guess Obama, Clinton and every other democratic president gets free passes on their military actions.
