Skyword Sword is amazing, and the CD-i games are not legend of zelda games

I think this comparison is a bit random. We should do Street Fighter vs Mario next, followed by Gran Turismo vs. Ace Combat.

I have to take Zelda, Final Fantasy... I don't know. They've always been a hit or miss with the occasional masterpiece (this was FFVI for me, no one will ever convince me VI was not the best) where it is rare for me to come across a Zelda game I didn't like. My two most favourite games are Final Fantasy VI and Zelda: Link to the past.... but Link to the past is still my favourite overall.

What was so amazing about Skyward Sword?  Was it the broken, inconsistent controls?  Oh, I know, it must have been the terrible writing and plot!  Or what about the ridiculous amount of stupid fetch quests to artificially inflate the game's lengh!  Oh!  I know, it must have been the famously annoying Fi! 

10/10! 

And These are HUGE problems with the game.  terrible controls, stupid plot, dumb characters (They tried to make it serious and give Link a personality and FAILED SO MISERABLY), and the artificial inflation of the game's length by making you bend over backwards for NPC's for bullshit.  "Oh, I know where THE KIDNAPPED FUCKING PRINCESS is, but before I Tell you, you must play hide and seek with me!"  Zelda was well done, but everyone else in the game was just terrible.  

But you have to factor in the good with the bad when considering the franchise, not just the ones we enjoy.

Still considered a great game by nearly everyone. Even the people who say it's the worst in the series, they still say it's good. Me personally it's my favorite of the LoZ franchise. I loved flying, I thought the story was great, and Fi didn't really detract from my enjoyment. I thought her design was awesome as well. 

Zelda, and even by a large margin.
Honestly, i don't even think that Final Fantasy is the best of the genre... imo Pokémon > Final Fantasy.

After that, Final Fantasy is of course one of the best series ever, that's for sure.

I loved riding my horse on The Wind Waker and Skyward Sword.

The controls work fine. If you have problems with it then I don't know what to tell you. There is a button to callibrate the controller I guess. (Super Pro Tip: You don't need to swing the sword like Link does in the screen. The gyroscope works even with a slight move in the correct direction.)

Dumb characters are a staple of the series (since Ocarina of Time).

I agree with the fetch quests though. They suck.
