A lot of games are developped in 24 months or less like UC2 or Resistance 2.

As you noted, sequels. Their engines were already created so all they had to do was retool, upgrade and add the story. Its the same reason Halo 4 was created so quickly. They essentially redressed the engine bungie had created for Halo. Its perfectly understandable that people would be worried about the quality of a new HD IP that is being created within the span of two years.

It's just a shame we didn't get to see gameplay because it looked really interesting but there will likely be some shown at gamescom. Someone said in the thread Inafune might have had ideas about this game for years but work only started 14 months ago, this is my thinking too

btw, what is this game? TPS? FPS? open world?

Anything thats releasing in the spring yet can only show off a CG trailer is suspect.

Having a 2 year dev cycle isn't a big problem, just means you shouldn't expect a massive blockbuster type experience.

Pretty sure it hasn't been mentioned yet. I'd guess from the trailer that it will be 3rd person and not open world, possibly some puzzle elements in it too because of the whole core switching thing.

3rd person action game

Well it's developed by the team of metroid prime, an extremely polished franchise. So maybe that's enough time for them, anyway it can be delayed like QB.

My sentiments exactly.

Ill reserve judgement until I see gameplay. I have a rule of not basing assumptions on a trailer, both good or bad.

The trailer was interesting, but that is a pretty short timetable

People are worried about this and know Gears 4 is launching in 2016. MS doesn't care who they have to pay, they just want the games completed now.

Gears 4 was underwhealming. It showed nothing new. Same as previous ones.
