Wii U version is around 1m sold

For reference, 

Ocarina of Time 3D: 3.6m

A Link Between Worlds: 2.4m

Majora's Mask 3D: 1.5m

It is unknown when it will launch or if it will be New 3DS exclusive

I'm just going to go and say 1.3m

It will sell better than Wii U version because much bigger install base, but Zelda was never really that popular on handhelds

So, what say you?

We should look to how how other Musou games have sold on handhelds. I guess it depends how the Japanese market receives it. HyWa did not do very well in Japan after all, so maybe the handheld market there would be receptive to the 3DS version.

I predict that it will sell less than the Wii U version. Sure, Japan will probably receive it better but the west already bought into the original and I don't see those same people going out and buying this.

Also, 1m isn't LT sales for Hyrule Warriors Wii U. It isn't even a year old yet. I predict 750-800k LT for the 3DS version, maybe 1m LT if it reaches a substantial amount of people in the west.

Tecmo Koei said they shipped 1m copies a couple of months ago and VgChartz says .92m as of April 4

That's why I used the phrase "around 1m"

Well, one things for sure, it'll probably outsell the Wii U version.
