Tell that to Ps3, PsP and PSV

Playstation has lead 3 generations on homeconsoles. Nintendo has lead.... 3 generations on homeconsoles and every generation of handhelds (5?), let´s not act like Sony is some kind of mighty king when even sony fans says that PS4 is only winning because the other 2 fucked it up.

Nintendo is in the gaming business since the 3th generation.
Sony is in the gaming business since the the 5th generation.

Sony won 3 generations against Nintendo.
Nintendo won 1 generation against Sony.

All 4 Playstation consoles sold (PS3 / PS4 will sell) 90M+.
Nintedo only has 1 console from 6 consoles which sold 90M+.

Nintendo fucked up this generation? What about Gamecube and N64 generation? Did they fucked up there too? Wii U sales are typcial Nintendo sales. Nintendo never was better than Sony (except Wii though I still can see PS3 outselling Wii)!
The only thing where Nintendo is better than Sony is the handheld market. And even if there are better in the handheld market, the first Sony handheld outsold all Nintendo home consoles except Wii.

Playstation always was/is/will be the gaming market leader!

With all due respect, this logic is ridiculous. The PS1/PS2 and NES/SNES  are apples to oranges comparsons. The industry was a lot smaller in the NES and SNES days so plainly comparing numbers makes little sense in this scenario. You are also overlooking the fact that the PS1, PS3, and especially the PS2 had much longer shelf lives than the average console.

Did Nintendo fuck up in the N64 generation? Yes because of cartridges. GCN? Not necessarily; the PS2 was pretty much established as the go-to console. If ou launch earlier this advantage can come a lot easier (see Sega Genesis and the 360) unless you completely fuck up (see: Wii U). "Typical Nintendo sales"? There is no such thing as a "typical" generation. Things can change.

The PSP is 700k away from outselling the GBA, but that doesn't mean much because of the circumstances, and the fact that the industry was a lot bigger in 05/06-11 than in 01-04.

from my perspective, the ps4 is their less appealing console, compared to the ps1, 2 and 3.

In what sense?

overall, games and system, I don't have that "omg this is next gen" feeling like before, now it's more like a simple progression.

That can be said for all consoles this gen.

The bitterness towards Sony is insane. Like they kicked some peoples puppy or something the way people go off about them.

Yeah, according to most people on this site, they are winning only because the other two f**ked up their reveals, and not because they might have actually done something good.

This mentality of gamers is probably the reason why the public has a negative perception about them.

Have you ever be in this situation:

You are winning in a fighting game and you try to finish your opponent with a fancy move but your special misses. Then you find out that you spend your meter in an unnecessary attack and your opponent finishes you with solid gameplay just because you forgot the basics?

Well, that is pretty much what Microsoft did. After all what the 360 accomplished they had everything in their favor to win this gen, but somebody at some point had to say "Why dont we try a new move"

I've never gotten that feeling ever with any game from the consoles I played. I come across games that I think are good or amazing but I never go "this is next gen". Graphics improve at a decent rate throughout the gens but that's not important to me. Just as long as what we can experience more it a game and what devs can do in a game keeps improving, I'll be happy. For example, No man's sky. Even if it turns out as wonderful as I think it might, I'll never get that feeling. Games are just slowly allowing me to do what I wanted from the start. It's more like "I can finally experience this" versus "oh look out how good that game looks".

It's going in both ways.

Sony have done good things so far (strong 1st party releases, low price, good marketing, more power), but this success came with huge mistakes made by M$ and N.

I highly doubt that if M$ didn't f**ked up, Sony will have this lead in homeconsoles.

That sounds just right, but the people here either pretend to or don't want to believe that Sony can actually do something good.

not for the wii u, the wii was dated just like the wii u but it's the first time that we play HD Nintendo games, still dated but it's a reall progression compared to the wii. the xbox one and ps4 are just like a new phone, very cool but then "okay". hopefully their exclusives are going to change my mindset.
