I am still on the Forza bandwagon...

They got one of the 3 lead writers on RDR1. The lead producer on God of War 2018. Co-director on Tomb Raider (2013) and Rise of the Tomb Raider. This studio is shaping up very well. I expect great things.

So Microsoft weren't kidding when they said they gave Darrell Gallagher a blank check, were they

Anyways, these look like great pickups. I'm interested in what this studio will deliver as their first game.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Anyone else playing the Black Ops 4 beta this weekend?

On the one hand we have Forza Horizon, which just got a game 2 years ago, which I only played in January this year personally, so I'm honestly feeling a bit of Forza fatigue. Also they chose UK for the setting, and while they've done a great job of making UK look as good as possible, it still not as good as it could have been with say a Japan or Argentina or Norway or China setting imo, especially Japan.

On the other hand we have RDR2, the sequel to my favorite game of all-time. The first AAA Western genre game in 8 years, so there is absolutely no fatigue like there is with Forza. The trailer yesterday looked absolutely incredible.

Easy pick, I gotta go with RDR2.

Forza might be repetitive, but I know it's a franchise I'll like because the concept is terribly simple.

RDR was a mixed bag to be honest. I am not a great fan of Westerns unless they are Rodeo/shootout/herding inspired, and those have next to no AAA games on their list. It might also have a lot to do with the feeling of Westerns: old, outdated, dusty and populated with Indians, Cabaret/Canteen Women and old men with guns. It just feels off, especially to me, someone obsessed with youth, over the top glamour and beauty, especially on characters, and effeminate teens like JRPG heroes. I always said that an open world RPG where the whole world looked like mega Bayonetta, movements where even sharper (think Nier Automata on Jet), tons of holograms and glitzy magic and beautiful animal summons, together with an emphasis on "Apple era" technology and the characters all looked like Square Enix mocapped 17 year old ultramodels and consulted with a glamour photograph company (thus characters that make Lightning and Hope look like TESV potatoes) as well as a titanic party and cast ensemble with tons of drama in an already ultradramatic plot would be my kind of game... Sadly it doesn't exist, and while I am trying, don't expect anything to come of it.

Anyways, Westerns as a genre are bad for me. I don't like them as a general rule and hate them at worst. Even Django I only watched because a friend asked me to and then fell asleep 20 minutes in. I get RDR is far more than that and the world has been hoping for RDR2 for more than 10 years, but I prefer Forza. When they announced F76, I was floored because I had been hoping for TESVI instead and... well... it didn't pan out at all...

Other thing I have to say... After being in Colombia for a few days, I can't help but wonder how Forza Colombia would look like. There's a nearly 8 km stretch taking you from Bogota to Chia that's completely gorgeous and would look fantastic on an Horizon game...

I'm not sure if this has been discussed before, but what other AA studios, besides Obsidian, would be a good pick up for MS?

I just threw up in my mouth heh.

Give me old men with guns and cabaret women with more down-to-earth story any day. I love Western stuff, even as a kid I found gunslingers with their hats and horses the coolest thing ever. Loved Lucky Luke comics as well.

Hell on Wheels is one of my favorite tv-series. I don't know who is the most badass character ever, Cullen Bohannon or John Marston :)

But it's great people have different tastes.

Voted Halo: Infinite this round.

Honestly that's part of the reason why I like RDR, because of how unique it is. There is nothing else like it in gaming, other AAA devs are too scared to even attempt to make a Western, the closest they've come are space westerns like Borderlands and the cancelled space western at Sony Santa Monica. Ubisoft included Western on both an Assassin's Creed and Far Cry setting survey since RDR released, but has yet to make one. So, in the realm of gaming, Red Dead is among the most unique IP's, and that is what actually drew me to it back in 2010 when I first saw the trailers for RDR. Believe it or not, I had never even seen a western movie before I played RDR, my dad is a big western fan but I never watched any with him until after RDR released, and even since then I have only watched a few like the original True Grit, the True Grit remake by the Coen Brothers, and Django Unchained.

Just wanted to say. Tombstone was/is a great movie with great performances.

NOOO I forgot to vote last round, would've voted Cyberpunk. Ah well.

Even thought I play Gears I am going to give my vote to Forza Horizon 4.

Proud to be a Californian.

Well, it's just that I love drama a lot and would like to see a plot driven by drama instead of sheer dumb "save the world" rubbish, though that can be part of a subplot...

And I voted Forza again since I don't like Cat...
