This guy is a reliable Microsoft leaker.

Good start but it needs more Sega games.

Lol where does all this halo 6 delayed talk come from.

Can't be delayed if it doesn't have a release date

A few of us are hoping Halo 6 is 2019, I don't think there's much more than that except according to Neogaf (RIP) during the stream (Which I didn't watch) Bonnie made it sound like halo 6 is a long way away plus they could very well be focusing on MCC a lot through the 2018 (It's getting only it's -first- update in Spring and more throughout the year) and the Halo 5 team is helping on it.

Not much else other than speculation, I for one think Halo 6 is releasing in 2019.

I've mentioned it a few times but I still think Gears of War 5 will be the big hitter for the holiday 2018 with Halo 6 been a 2019 release, With how long it took them to work on Gears Ultimate and make Gears 4 which was great graphicaly, story and multiplayer content wise in a fairly shot amount of time along with them already having a core with Gears 4 to build upon a 2 year development cycle is very likely in my opinion, I also belive the last patch said the final 2 maps had been added to Gears 4 so that means they got a full year now to have 100% of The Coalition working on it now.

I don't want a 2018 Gears of War release. They did a brilliant job with 4 but i'd prefer they'd change the formula a bit now and add more new stuff. Overrun 2.0 is a must for example.

Spent over 20 hours on Cities Skylines over the weekend.
Got 815 Gamerscore out of it. Probably won't have to buy it unless the add new achievements for the DLCs (and there will be DLCs that are already out on PC)

In case someone else has tried it or played it before. My city had 115k people at the end. With over $5.5m still at my disposal. Getting to 100k people was really a grind. Once you get to ~50k the game progresses very slow.

So we'll have a lineup of Gears, Halo, Forza, Halo Wars, Crackdown, Horizon, State of Decay, Cuphead, Sea of Thieves, Lucky Tales, ReCore, Ori and Quantum Break.

I may be missing a few but hopefully these start rotating releases. If they get sequel releases(Quantum Break) (Halo Wars)or are good games(Super Lucky). Hopefully like one or two more new games and that seems like a solid lineup switching out each year.

I'd say Gears 4 is definitely possible for 2018, especially with someone like Rod but I hope it isn't, I want them to take their time there too, Gears 4 was great but now they have to add something new and fresh to it.

Shika brings up a good point about key people leaving 343, I've noticed that and a few staff changing roles in 343, I've heard the engine rumour but that was just from a Neogaf user, I don't know where he got it from but it was basically that 343 is making some big changes to their engine I think?

I doubt Halo 6 would release in 2020 though, Microsoft likely wouldn't let them go that long unless they have some major Halo spin-offs to go in between, I also really doubt that Gears 5 and Halo 6 would release in the same year, unless one title launches in Late Q1 - Early Q2 and the other releases Late Q3 - Early Q4 but I don't see that happening either so who knows

Whoever the new Lead Writer is will likely need more time than a year too considering Brian was only removed late this year, unless we want to end up with a Destiny situation but without a Gears title or Halo title in 2018, Microsoft is going to need some major title to fill their place otherwise we'll probably end up with another shitty year.

If only Fable IV was in development....

It's possible that it is or at least I like to think it is :) I guess for a 2018 release for it they would of had to of got a new studio on it not long after they shut down Lionhead.

Whilst I know developers are different the Gears series has been on shorter cycles than Halo and they made the Gears Ultimate along with Gears 4 from the ground up in 2 years 9 months maybe less as development probably didn't start as soon as MS got the rights for it but I were persuming Halo 6 hits in 2019 then they won't release Gears 5 at the same time and leaving it a year would mean 4 year cycle which seems quite long unless they are working on something inbetween to release in 2018.

If MS haven't got Gears 5 (or Halo 6) ready for holiday 2018 they need to have some big new shooter IP imo as whilst FH4 can carry them in Europe it doesn't have as much power in the US to be the main focus of holiday 2018. I also don't see them remastering Halo 3 anniversary for 2018 either with the recent announcment of fixing MCC and X enhanced mode but we did see that Phil said he signed some new IP deals that were 2-3 years away so maybe there is a potential bit hitter amongst them due for 2018 along with Recore 2 or something :)

Staff changes has been going on for years at 343. It was happening all around halo 4 and 5 but those where still 3 year developments. I never heard about the engine getting redone though.

Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)

halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)

x1 will pass ps4 in USA, and UK.

Thing is these are pretty big staff changes. Josh Holmes, Studio Head of FPS Development and Brian Reed, Lead Writer. Brian Reed leaving in particular would have been a big blow to Halo 6 development, because whoever succeeded him most likely wanted to start over from scratch with Halo 6's story instead of trying to salvage the mess Brian left (and indeed, the rumors suggest that is exactly what happened). I'll be surprised if Halo 6 is next year, especially if that job listing looking for a new engine designer a month or two ago was real, I doubt they're changing engines mid-development. Maybe they're just hiring early for Halo 7's next-gen engine though.

I highly doubt they would start building a engine almost 2 years into development. Like you said probably for another game. As far as Brian reed goes that might not stall development that bad at all. Frankie acted like 3-4 years ago that the trilogy  was all mapped out. Also it's possible him leaving was kept under wraps for a while, or there was a transition that started a while ago. Same for josh. Like you guys are saying it's definitely possible that's it's a 2019 game but I still doubt it. The team there is so big now that 3 years should be enough time for some inovation. They already nailed gameplay with guardians. I don't think they need an extra year unless they are really pushing sp, or warzone to something crazy.

Anyway I really hope if there is no halo till 2019/20 than there's also no gears till then either. I think gears shows far more fatigue. Look at the most played chart. Guardians is constantly ahead of it even though it's a year older. Then mcc is also on the chart(a bit lower though). I think that shows that halo is still played by around twice as much people even though gears has the more recent releases.

My Rocket League is crashing everytime I try to do anything from the menu. Anyone heard anything about this?
