Forums - Gaming Discussion - Need For Speed will be always-online

Uh huh.. Like that would convince anyone that it's a good idea. I predict that they will be back pedaling in not much longer or they'll be scratching their heads, wondering why their game sold like crap at the county fair.

Oh dear... It's like these people don't learn.

Hmm, pie.

You want my money?

Always online meaning what?

LittleBigPlanet was always online and nobody took issue with it. Hopefully this is the same way. Could be played offline if you have no connection.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Me as well. I don't want another Need for Speed World mmo full of online idiots.

"A more rewarding experience with friends." That's bs :/ Let me choose when to enjoy (splitscreen) multiplayer with my friends.

With Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare, Mirror's Edge 2 and what looked to be Need for Speed: Underground 3, I was starting to warm up to the new EA (post John Riccitiello) but it's clear now that nothing has changed and I was just being naive.

Plot twist. Mirrors edge might have DRM. To "enhance" (?) your social experience.

"NFS will require an online connection"

I don't see how that can be interpreted, except that it will not work without an online connection.

Destiny doesn't work when the internet is not working, so I guess this is the same way.

Another game I won't buy for my Wii U.

Double ouch :p.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

Send a Friend Request On PSN :P

Well that's knocked some of the excitement out of this announcement. But I'm not writing it off like a lot of people here seem to be doing quite yet. After all its been a couple years since the SimCity fracas and on top of that there have been other online only titles since. Let's just hope that EA have learnt from these errors in the past to make a decent and stable game.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

People don't care, it's not going to hurt sales
