Haven't played it so no comment, but that's how most of the highly rated and praised indie games are. They're hyped to the ends of the earth and back. Then when they come out, disappointment ensues.  Retro City Rampage was justlike this.  Sounds good, but then boring as hell to play.

It is not the best game ever, and maybe people overhype it slightly, but I thought it was super fun, solid and very well designed.

Rogue legacy has worse level design, worse enemy design, worse character design, worse music, worse writing, worse story, worse world building, worse boss design, less interesting gameplay mechanics and equal character progression mechanics (imo)

I fail to see any way in which Rogue Legacy is better than Shovel Knight

I feel that its overrated, but its still a good game.

Most indie games are overrated.

This is how I felt about bioshock original.
Man how formulaic that game is.

In that it's often a fight to get people to accept it.
