Do you support Polyamory? Polygamy?

I support both. 78 48.75%

I support neither. 62 38.75%

Polyamory only. 20 12.50%

Polyamory yes, polygamy hell no, simply because I don't even believe in monogamous marriage; at least not the court document aspect of it, the pomp and ceremony nonsense I'm fine with so long as there's no piece of paper giving away half my stuff when the shit inevitably hits the fan.

Can't support the one without the other. Look what happened to gay rights and marriage. It started with just recognizing their love on a basic emotive level.

If all parties are consenting adults, sure, why not.

Jeez, a lot of you seem to not care that polygamy is a way to keep women down....... VGChartz users seem to fall on the wrong side on the majority of issues

Are those the only 3 choices? Personally, as long as everyone is an adult and they all know what they are doing, I consider it non of my business.

Now, traditionally much of poligimy is used to undermine women. In Utah they have 'recruiting parties' where women try to get other women to join their group. They only prey on the young and helpless - make them think they are party of a happy sisterhood family - then fix them up with their old man/husband. That I don't really support. It's sort of like that place north of the wall in Game of Thrones. At least how it's practiced by the LDS and ALDS in the States and Mexico.

In the middle east they treat women so poorly I wouldn't even know of that's connected.

But I really think anyone having more than 3 kids is doing a disservice to their kids and the world in general. So making women into baby factories is really offensive, which is one of the thing about many poligimy cultures.

Basally, I think it's a bit weird, but it's non any of my business.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Tell me a funny joke!

Even in Islam it's only allowed if you could love/equally treat 2-4 wives of the same class at the same time. I sure as hell can't ever do that so it's not my cup of tea.
There are plenty of polygamists in my town though, most of them for decent enough reasons like an old man who's always wanted a son but he got girls, and since his wife was past her biological clock he married another woman (with consent of course) and got a son out of her. The Islamic narrative of the birth of Ismael is a similar story.

i don't think it will work and i go with practicality not my fantasy or opinion

sometimes people can have an orgy but i don't call it polyamory

Did you even make it past the fifth word in my post before deciding to make an asinine comment?

What other choices have I missed? I suppose I could've made more options like "I don't support it, but I don't think it should be illegal", but I thought people would specify further what they mean by support ( so I left that vague.)

Also I think while historically polygamy might've been a way to oppress women, it certainly isn't the case today in our far more socially liberal societies. As others have mentioned in this thread, they have mutually beneficial polyamory/non-state recognized polygamy relationships that aren't all about sex and reproduction.

How? I think the only reason you say that is because you assume a polygamy marriage would be comprised of one husband and many wifes. Do you think one wife with many husbands is a way of keeping women down? Marriage in general was a way of owning a woman, I fail to see how adding polygamy is worse in that regard.
