As I postulated, Christianity is now dead in the West. The family has been betrayed by people of my generation and younger. The same caucus that voted in Obama in office twice who is now tearing the US apart from within.

A sad day indeed for those who believe in family values and the social order of the universe. But the fight will continue. Praise Allah.

Um what?  Many same sex couples are Christian, and many Christian Churchwa perform and have perform same sex marriages for nearly a centery (at least that I know about - and probably much, much longer.)  I have no doubt that if Jesus were hear today he would give a thumbs up to Ireland.

What? There is not tearing apart of the US from this other than a tiny cruel minorty.  It's getting stronger, although we still have much more reforms and things to improve.  Obama has stopped the USA from near bankrupsy, got Bin Laddin, ended the wars.  Sure we need to do more, but it was uncomfortably close to colapsing there for a while.

Support for Same Sex Marriage comes from support for Family Values - because a same sex couple can be a familiy and some ever have kids.  Are you saying kids shouldn't be with married parents?

Sorry if the world become a more fair, better and more nurturing place makes you uncomforable.  I hope someday you can see it for the beautiful thing that is love.

They stated here that no priest would be forced to officiate a same sex marriage if they had issues with lgbt couples personally, because I'm sure no couple wants to have the happiest day of their lives marred by the fact that someone saying the words that bind you together for life does not feel comfortable doing so, but the catholic church here in Ireland did not stand against marriage equality as a single minded block, they knew that many priests here had feelings to the contrary and during the campaigns many members of the church were out in favour of a Yes vote for equality, was great to see.

For the record, at least in the states, a priest/reverend/officiant/rabbit/celebrant, etc. can NEVER be forced to perform a ceremony.  Some do not want to marry divorced people.  Other's can skip inter racial - and one recently refused to marry a bride because he didn't like here dress.  No seriously, he refused at the time of the ceremony, because he didn't like here dress.  Plus, would would want someone that doesn't want to be there?

Now, issuing a license is different as that is an official capasity.  It would be like a police officer saying, "I will not arrest Quakers, even if I witness them murder someone, becuase I think all Quakers are devine."

"AHouston pastor refused to marry a couple in his church, because he didn’t find the bride’s dress to be appropriate."

Seriously, the dress story:  http://thegrio.com/2013/08/21/houston-pastor-refuses-to-marry-couple-over-brides-dress/

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

What the heck was wrong with the priest lol. I guess it isn't the most "holy" of dress's but still, can't say I'd turn down officiating someone in that, if you know what I mean!

Great little offshoot of this btw when it comes to American groups getting in on hating us for what we voted in, at least they're still holding up their strong views on both gay people and geography.

Sad day indeed and against family and human nature.

how is this stopping anyone from having a family if they choose to do so?

people should have the freedom to do whatever they want once they are not infringing on the rights of others

this bullshit is how trillion dollar wastes of money like the war on drugs come about because people want to dictate how other people should live

and yet now after those trillions of dollars is spent any kid can still walk down the street and buy any assortment of illicit substances they want and yet no one questions this

It's about defining what we consider family. Marriage is the defining institution of what we call a family. By allowing homosexuals to marry we basically elevate their status to that of a straight couple despite one serious flaw. Homosexuals can't conceive by nature. As such, the argument is that marriage should be reserved for natural unions only. I don't want to glorify homosexuality and marriage is one way to celebrate and glorify it. I think it is inferior to a straight relationship because they can't conceive.

Love has nothing to do with it. Freedom has nothing to do with it. If we allow unfettered freedom there will be no moral dividing lines. Anything will go. That is as close to anarchy as we will come. There will be no order. Everything that was once forbidden, for good or for bad reasons, will eventually become acceptable and legal.

I prefer to live in some kind of social order. I don't believe in chaos.

what you have to acknowledge though is that nothing in nature is absolute

yes the vast majority of peer bonding in nature is heterosexual but there are cases where homosexual peer bonding happens this is not exclusive to humans but even in other species that are more driven by instinct

" Freedom has nothing to do with it. If we allow unfettered freedom there will be no moral dividing lines. "

morality should only be concerned with the potential harm people can cause to each other and of course that doesn't mean there shouldn't be restrictions but restrictions should only be applied as i outlined

it should not impose ways of life on people i cannot agree with that

btw you can trust me when i say i acknowledge where progressivism is headed and i think many aspects of it must be combatted directly because they as you said are partially causing the colapse of society but this is one aspect of progressivism that must be allowed in my opinion

" That is as close to anarchy as we will come. There will be no order. Everything that was once forbidden, for good or for bad reasons, will eventually become acceptable and legal."

well not quite in some ways yes society is becoming more anarchistic but in other ways socialism is placing more control

well you know what a funny example related to what we have been speaking about is? controls are being lifted off of homosexual peer bonding while more and more control is being placed on heterosexual peer bonding because of feminism... just look at the "yes means yes" issue

its actually very funny when you think about it

"Everything that was once forbidden, for good or for bad reasons, will eventually become acceptable and legal."

there are many things that have been forbidden that should not been in the first place like the issue of drugs as i spoke of

because of the drug laws the government has been needlessly inflated and tax payers are robbed of millions every year while amusingly anyone can walk down the street and get their hands on any drug they want to

i could go into the fact that this was all a manipulation and that they drug system was intentional put in place for the purpose of robbing tax payers and putting restrictions on them but then i'd be called a wack job anyway i'm digressing

Elderly straight couples or straight couples where one or both partners are infertile cannot concieve naturally either; do you want to stop them marrying?

This forum amazes me in its acceptance and utter repulsed attitude towards this. I don't know whether to be proud or ashamed, really.
