how is this stopping anyone from having a family if they choose to do so?
people should have the freedom to do whatever they want once they are not infringing on the rights of others
this bullshit is how trillion dollar wastes of money like the war on drugs come about because people want to dictate how other people should live
and yet now after those trillions of dollars is spent any kid can still walk down the street and buy any assortment of illicit substances they want and yet no one questions this

It's about defining what we consider family. Marriage is the defining institution of what we call a family. By allowing homosexuals to marry we basically elevate their status to that of a straight couple despite one serious flaw. Homosexuals can't conceive by nature. As such, the argument is that marriage should be reserved for natural unions only. I don't want to glorify homosexuality and marriage is one way to celebrate and glorify it. I think it is inferior to a straight relationship because they can't conceive.
Love has nothing to do with it. Freedom has nothing to do with it. If we allow unfettered freedom there will be no moral dividing lines. Anything will go. That is as close to anarchy as we will come. There will be no order. Everything that was once forbidden, for good or for bad reasons, will eventually become acceptable and legal.
I prefer to live in some kind of social order. I don't believe in chaos.

what you have to acknowledge though is that nothing in nature is absolute
yes the vast majority of peer bonding in nature is heterosexual but there are cases where homosexual peer bonding happens this is not exclusive to humans but even in other species that are more driven by instinct
" Freedom has nothing to do with it. If we allow unfettered freedom there will be no moral dividing lines. "
morality should only be concerned with the potential harm people can cause to each other and of course that doesn't mean there shouldn't be restrictions but restrictions should only be applied as i outlined
it should not impose ways of life on people i cannot agree with that
btw you can trust me when i say i acknowledge where progressivism is headed and i think many aspects of it must be combatted directly because they as you said are partially causing the colapse of society but this is one aspect of progressivism that must be allowed in my opinion
" That is as close to anarchy as we will come. There will be no order. Everything that was once forbidden, for good or for bad reasons, will eventually become acceptable and legal."
well not quite in some ways yes society is becoming more anarchistic but in other ways socialism is placing more control
well you know what a funny example related to what we have been speaking about is? controls are being lifted off of homosexual peer bonding while more and more control is being placed on heterosexual peer bonding because of feminism... just look at the "yes means yes" issue
its actually very funny when you think about it
"Everything that was once forbidden, for good or for bad reasons, will eventually become acceptable and legal."
there are many things that have been forbidden that should not been in the first place like the issue of drugs as i spoke of
because of the drug laws the government has been needlessly inflated and tax payers are robbed of millions every year while amusingly anyone can walk down the street and get their hands on any drug they want to
i could go into the fact that this was all a manipulation and that they drug system was intentional put in place for the purpose of robbing tax payers and putting restrictions on them but then i'd be called a wack job anyway i'm digressing
