If this means faster load times, I'm all for it. If it means compelte backwards compatibility with 3DS and DS machines that's be great, too. What doesn't make me excited is that they probably wouldn't include a disk drive in the machine to play WiiU or Wii games, which is something that I have appreciated about the last two gens of Nintendo.

I'd like to see the return of cartridges too.. Faster loading times, smaller console size, etc..

But this move would be highly unlikely and would probably alienate even more 3rd part devs

Nah, cartridges are a thing of the past now.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

I don't think what you are expecting or encouraging is a bad idea, the use of SD cards, however I do find it more likely both the handheld and console will be optical, based on some sort of disks (many mini again like the Gamecube?) and that (similar to a PC as you mention) the main console version will play the games at an extremely higher quality than the handheld but the games will be more or less the same

obviously they are mostly likely aiming to integrate the 2 systems with the same software. the fusion integration idea is fantastic for Nintendo to do because thy obviously have a pull on the handheld market and if someone purchases a handheld and then realizes they can play the same game on the TV with better graphics they might feel compelled to buy the console as well if they otherwise wouldn't

I'm not familiar with SD cards in depth but I do wonder whether or not they are efficient at holding enough information

If they use flash card for replacements of BD disk, they should use at least 32GB, and it costs too much.

i like this, i like it a lot, but lets push out "Nintendo" from the main focus. what about consoles in general and how it could actually be a huge benefit for everyone.---

-even MicroSD cards can hold up to 128GB of storage, and that dwarfs GTA V's 60 gig size.

-cartridges returning would mean no longer needing Hard Drive space for save files or to download data from multidisk games. imagine popping GTA V into a PC and playing it immediated with no downloads?

-i dont think single cartridges for multiple devices is possible, but price cuts for the little guys are definitely a go. maybe we could go back to the $50/$30 price range opposed to todays $60/$40...

I've actually been saying this for awhile, I even recently mentioned it in another thread today.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

TBH I guess
Fusion console will have Disks

Fusion handheld will have "SD cards" (if its a seperate device tho)

(because we are talking about Nintendo they do all sorts of illogical stuff)

You cannot simply make as many copies of a game when demand is high as you can with blurays. Blurays are basically pure plastic.

And Nintendo etc removed the manuals from the games. I dont think they would make everything be mini chips and copper/gold and whatnot. Every cent counts.

Would love to have cartridges tho but not small ones like DS size at least Gameboy size :) Its just cool to own that stuff.
