what about fps? there is no great shooter on the xbox one, and there isnt any hope to get one in the next year(maybe they get a late port of cs:go?)

I think console shooting fans are getting what they want on 8th gen.

Well CS:GO got lost in the shuffle on 7th gen. Not sure if they would change on 8th gen. That style of shooter isn't big on consoles.

I know it's a far shot....but is there any chance for a Blue Dragon 2?

I understood what you meant but I disagree with "that doesn't mean that the X1 lacks diversity". If MS wants xbox just be to be a western device, yes it's library is diverse enough for that but if it wants to be an appealing console to the world, it needs a more diverse library. It not just selling in one market but in many countries. MS needs to understand that. What's the point of selling a "US box" in other countries if it's only gonna cater to one country? Is it meant to have a token presence every where else except the states? Globally in the US....

I'm not really talking about just japanese games but RPG's in general. It doesn't have many compared to the PS4. Xbox has always lacked RPG's. That alone makes it's library less diverse than the any playstation console.

Home consoles for the most part are a western devices. PS4 has done pretty well outside the west, but their primary focus is the west by a large margin. Even the Sony games that come out of Japan are geared towards western gamers.

Again, I would give the diversity edge to PS4. But it doesn't really matter, its NOT diversity that has given PS4 a significant sales edge. Xbox 360 did just fine with less diversity than PS3.

People aren't buying PS4 for diversity. They are buying PS4 for the same stuff they bought last gen. CoD, AC, BF, Fifa, Madden, a medicore Halo game called Desinty, a bad GTA/AC game called Watch Dogs, and ofcourse GTAV...

Sales of exclusive software is surprisingly close between PS4 and X1 considering the massive disparity in userbase. So we can't say PS4 is doing great due to Sony pumping out amazing games.

You're so concerned about diversity and a large library but there is already more on X1 than most people have the time to play. I have like 20 games in my X1 backlog in various genres and more keeps coming. Your complaints are just out of touch with the average consumer.

The average consumer/gamer is obviously not an xbox one owner. If the majority of gamers agreed with the bolded part, they would of went with the xbox one. It's game library is not as appealing to gamers as the PS4's because it's lacking games of different genres.  I'm simply pointing that out. It would help it's sales on a global level. It's asinine to just disregard that because some xbox gamers are happy with the game library as is or where it's headed.

Ok, the core xbox gamers have already bought the xbox one. What else can MS do to drive up sales on a global level other than price cuts and bundles? Broaden it's game library and show people outside of the states that there are games for them to play on the xbox one of their favorite genre. A handful of games is not enough.

3rd party games are pretty much the same on either console. People pick one console over the other because of exclusives and what type of games will eventually be released on it. Exclusives are pretty much the main thing that distingishes them apart other than company policies and perciphal devices.

The majority of the people that bought the wii u bought the console so they could play all of the exclusive games that would be released on it. Not because of it's early game line up. It's the same with the PS4 and xbox one except that they have 3rd party support.

People are investing into the PS4 so they can play all the different games that are eventually released. Playstation consoles have a long history of large and diverse game libraries. Playstation consoles typically have the most RPG's and new IP's. It's all a part of it's reputation and that stuff is a major selling point because there's plenty of games for anyone to play.

Your argument fails because the games a vast majority of PS4 owners are buying are multiplat. The exclusives on PS4 are not what's primarily moving the hardware. C'mon man, common sense. LIke I pointed out before there isn't a large disparity in sales of exclusive software inspite of the userbase disparity.

People flocked to PS4 because MS turned people off towards X1 early on. Last gen PS3 turned people off towards Sony and there was a mass exodus to Xbox.

You can't just base it on just the sales so early into this gen. Like I mentioned before, early into a gen, people will buy a console so they can play the games that will eventually have be on it, not because of it's starting line up or early gen games. Why did you buy an xbox one?  Was it because of the xbox one's starting line up, early gen releases or third party games? No.

You would damn well defend the xbox one if I tried to say that people didn't buy the xbox one for it's exclusives and for the exclusives that will eventually be released on it. It's the same for nintendo and sony's consoles. Sales data doesn't matter so much in this because you can't track the sales of games in the future and the reasoning behind why gamers buy what consoles they do. Gaming polls don't really work because of the small sample sizes or the means in which they are collecting data.

You're acting like it's a fluke that the PS4 is doing so well. The PS4 has 50% marketshare. It's normal for playstation's consoles to dominate their gens. Thei PS3 is the exception to that and rightly so. Sony overestimated what people would pay for backwards compatibility and for a console in general.

I assure you most people aren't buying PS4 to eventually play the exclusives. People buy Playstation and Xbox primarily for 3rd party games that are generally multiplat. Hence, just because people buy PS4 doesn't mean they give a shit about Sony's 1st party. The proof of that is X1 and PS4's exclusive software sales being relatively close. X1's exclusive software right now is better and that's why it sells at par with PS4 exclusives even with a smaller userbase.

Did I say its a fluke PS4 is doing well? No, I said the opposite. I gave you reasons why PS4 is doing so well. MS pushed people away early on with the X1 (price, DRM, etc) and that did damage they will never recover from. Sony did the same with PS3, the Playstation brand never recovered from some damage PS3 did which is why Xbox is still a major competitor.

In your ideal world, that may be the case but luckily for the rest of us, you're wrong.

3rd party games may sell the best on a console generally but it's not why someone buys that particular console over the others. It's the exclusives. I'm done with this. We're just going around in circles. Til our next debate or disagreement, Mr. Puggsly. Have a good one.
