Forums - Politics Discussion - If You Were Born In Another Country, What Country Would You Prefer?

From China.

I can't really decide one so I will just make a list and some reasons for them.

South Korea or Japan in Asia because they are good countries and has similar culture to mine.
New Zealand or Ireland because they don't have snakes (yes I hate them...).
Scandinavia, Switzerland or Netherlands because of the welfare-systems, very good and secure countries overall.
South Africa simply because the country has always interested me a lot.

From the UK. Can't decide as there are too many places I like :

Tanzania - where my mother was from
Germany - sulingen - where I spent 6 years
Qatar - got a nephew living there abd is stunning
Malaysia - cousins have a holiday home there abd it's beautiful
North Carolina - my cousins have a house there in Murphy and the place is beautiful
Hawaii - it looks stunning and peaceful

I'm Finnish but I was born in Italy. Lived here all my life, but I went to Finland enough times to know how life there is. That said I'd choose Finland or another Scandinavian country. Probably Norway or Denmark.

Probably Japan.

Japan I think, but in a more quite piece of the country, not in Tokyo.

Yeah, Tokyo would be a terrible place to live, haha. I wouldn't recommend it.

Maybe the media gives us that skewed perception that Tokyo would be awesome to live in. But is it the overcrowding, the cost of life, the interaction or something else?

I'm not sure about the cost of living, but I find Tokyo to be way overcrowded, busy, and too fast paced. I find myself getting tired out and feeling claustrophobic whenever I go there. Perhaps it works fine for some people, but def not me.

I'm from the U.S., but I would definitely choose South Korea or Japan. I think those cultures are so cool.

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

Maybe a Third World country, so I could then move to England, be given a free home, cash, healthcare and education whilst be totally immune to criticism or any expectations to work from the native populace..

I don't know any first world country that really treats their immigrants fairly...

I'm from the U.S. I would like to live in New Zealand, or Switzerland if I were born in another country.

Reasons why:

- They have reasonable government systems/laws.

- They are beautiful.

- They are safe from most world conflicts.

Was born in Romania and now live in Canada and I would choose Canada. Other choices would be New Zealand and Switzerland for the scenery, Germany for the culture and Finland just because.
