You have to remember that by now WiiU exclusives smash the ps4 exclusives, they are better by a landslide, look at the critical and public reception. New exclusives like Splatoon, Yoshi Wooly World, Mario Maker,  Xenoblade Chronicles X, Star Fox U, Devil´s Third, Rodea, Fatal Frame V, Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem, Zelda U and the new E3 announcements (Paper Mario?/animal croosing?/Metroid?) are cominng to join the extensive line up of great exclusives that the console already has, unlike ps4. They are going to join Smash Bros 4, Mario Kart 8, Pikmin 3, Bayonetta 2, DK Tropical Freeze, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate , Captain Toad, NSMBU, Zombie U, Wonderfull 101, Hyrule Warriors, Super Mario 3D World, etc

The console could be much more appealing just marketing the right way, because is pretty damn good.

And also some third parties are coming, it has the usual mainstream casual stuff like Lego Dimension/Jurassic Park,  Just dance and all that shit, but Project Cars is also coming, and Guitar Hero Live. It seems like BO3 or some other CoD could be coming on WiiU too as the latest activision twitters suggests (kind of), and we know that a big AAA port from Tantalus is coming. Things are better than it seems.

See that is your problem
Those are a lot of games coming for the WiiU but those are mainly games that won't even sell to the existing WiiU owners.
Bayonetta 2 is soooooo goood OMG awesome² and it will never reach 1 Million units sold...Aren't there like nearly 10 Million sold WiiUs?
When not even the people owning a WiiU will buy it why would it get people into buying a console for it?
This goes for 95% of those games you listed - Those may be decent/good games but they don't sell and are even less system sellers.
Splatoon will bomb - A "shooter" without voice chat?Who should this atract?Kids?Adults?Kids play Call of Duty and stuff and so do adults.

And you forget - 99% of 3rd Party Games are exclusive to consoles not named WiiU
Star Wars Battlefront on the PS4 will sell probably in the first 7 days more than everything on your list not having Mario and Zelda in its name...COMBINED.
Metal Gear,Witcher,Batman and every other 3rd Party game are what people want and those aren't on the WiiU.
Hell why would anyone pick Call of Duty on the WiiU if there is a PS4/X1 Version? The WiiU is the only platform Call of Duty is selling like poo...i mean wtf?Call of Duty selling bad?
People want flawless and good working Online Gaming - The Online functions of the WiiU are at best on par with the Dreamcast. Its so far behind on the things that the GENERAL PUBLIC want and need in these days.

"And also some 3rd Parties are coming"
Project Cars...did they even talk about that version since they announced the much superior PS4 and X1 Versions?Games like that won't get people interested into buying a WiiU if there are 3(if PC Version available) Versions.

All those games you mentioned won't mean shit and won't get the 0815 gamer into buying a WiiU
The best versions of Call of Duty,Star Wars Battlefront,Metal Gear Solid,Batman,FIFA(THIS IS A HUGE ONE FOR EUROPE) and many others are what people want.
I will buy a WiiU mainly for Zelda(nostalgia) and so do others with games that are important to them - They are interested in 1-2 games and are done with that console cause it doesn't appeal to the mass market.
3rd Party is mainly selling consoles and WIiU doesn't even get 10% of those.

Oh and the console is currently priced far to high for what it offers
You get the complete package(PS4) for 400$ and a slightly worse version of it(the X1) for less.
The WIiU needs a pricecut down to 100-150$ cause that is the price it is worth especially with the X1 coming down so fast in price.

that doesnt matter at all. If you dont think a game is good like call of duty or FIFA, it doesnt matter if it sells million or just one copy. It does matter for the people who make the game, but not for the gamers. I mean if it just sold decently enough so they can improve for their next game thats mostly all it needs, but it does sell millions and thats ofc good for alot of people. But in my opinion idc. Example Donkey Kong country tropical freeze is one of the best games i ever played, i do mention it quite alot.It just sold 1 million. But thats enough for the producers and for me. idc how good it sold it was an fantastic game. So it doesnt really matter alot how much something sells (from a gamers perspective), look at the gamecube and thats games. Gamecube has become a cult classic and heres something important. Holding the integrity of a video game franchise is more important then getting is released really quick and earn alot of millions of dollars from it, im sure most people who produce games want to earn alot of money, everyone wants thats, but i still think because a video game is almost like art, well good video games they really want to create something special. we can all talk about sales and stuff but in the end if the Wii U has better quality games. idc how good the system sells. I also dont care for most third party. ALot of other people do though, and i seen alot of people wanting COD black Ops 3 for Wii U, there are already big petitions for it.So you exeggerated your text a little bit, but some things you said were more true and some were a bit more incorrect :) happy gaming

I think the branding on the WiiU is killing it. It is literally the worst named console ever.

It has a lot of really good games, it really is it is not doing better. I personally cant wait until fire emblem.

psn- tokila

add me, the more the merrier.

PS3 is still a better console than the Wii U in Europe this week. I can't explain the PS4 sales though. Not a great machine IMO.

The PS3 has a massive library of high quality games, including new title like the latest Call of Duty, FIFA, Destiny, The Evil Within, The Last of Us, GTA 5 and many many more. Many of those games are available for as little as 20 €, even less when you buy used.

The PS3 has free online gaming on the PSN, which is without a doubt superior compared to Nintendos Network. The PS3 is also a blu-ray player and lets you access Netflix, Youtube and many other portals. It also has network functionality to stream all your stuff from a laptop or something. It basically replaces an Apple TV. And let's not forget that the PS3 is cheaper than the Wii U while it still comes with a relatively big hard drive (I don't see the 12 GB model around anymore) and in most cases one or two games.

The Wii U on the other hand has no media capabilities whatsoever and just a hand full of third party titles. Other than that, you have Nintendo titles which sell for full price even years after release. The Wii U is very expensive compared to the PS3 and the only thing that it seperates are the exclusive games. If you don't like those Ninty games, it doesn't make sense to buy a Wii U. Well, and europeans are not that much into Nintendo games, sadly.

Splatoon will bomb - A "shooter" without voice chat?Who should this atract?Kids?Adults?Kids play Call of Duty and stuff and so do adults.

95% of those games I listed bombed?

Mario 3D World: 3 milions sold
DK: Tropical Freeze: 1.1 million sold
Hyrule Warriors: 1 Milion shipped 2 months ago
Pikmin 3: 900.000 (a 10% of wiiu owners)
Bayonetta 2: Around 500k (disappointing, but that´s around a 7% of the wiiu owners, Bayoneta 1 sold one milion on ps3, a console with 8 times more users that WiiU (7% vs 1%)
Wonderfull 101: 300k (bombed)
Smash Bros 4: 3.5 milions
Zombie U: 900 K
NSMBU: 5 milions
Captain Toad: +600K (this may seems little, but this game will pass 1 milion this year, it has great legs)
Mario Kart 8: 4.7 milions sold

And of course, this game are still selling.

Where´s that 95%? Anywhere to be found

Also Splatoon is not going to bomb, by any means, we´ll see that soon.

People want flawless and good working Online Gaming - The Online functions of the WiiU are at best on par with the Dreamcast. Its so far behind on the things that the GENERAL PUBLIC want and need in these days.

WiiU owners has close to Zero problems with the online functions on WiiU, the servers never fall down, as opossed to the ps4 servers, when I say never, is never.  And is free, not like ps4.  Cod works right, Mario Kart works right, Smash Works right, and, of course, Splatoon will work perfectly right since day 1.

"And also some 3rd Parties are coming"
Project Cars...did they even talk about that version since they announced the much superior PS4 and X1 Versions?Games like that won't get people interested into buying a WiiU if there are 3(if PC Version available) Versions.

Actually yes, like 2 weeks ago they said that WiiU and SteamOs versions of the game are coming later this year, and  on their last Project Cars trailers they put in the title (Ps4/XBO/WIIU/PC)

All those games you mentioned won't mean shit and won't get the 0815 gamer into buying a WiiU

If you are talking about mainstream appeal, Mario Kart and Smash are still 2 of the biggest franchises in that regard. And I can imagina a lot of gamers having interest for possibly one of the best Jrpgs ever made, and the biggest open world on a console.Yes I´m talking about this game:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AvpNXhzscjQ

Also you should not undestimate the potential of Splatoon. Everyone though that Animal Crossing would sell like shit... now is one of the biggest franchises of the whole industry, and the creators of that game now have made... Splatoon....

Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem has a very similar appealing like Persona, so a big potential atracting some buyers.

Also some other games are gonna be a major sucess, watch Mario Maker and Yoshi, they are going to sell a ton. Even if they are not system sellers, everything adds up.

But I was not talking about numbers anyway, I was not talking about the console selling good suddlenly, only about the quality of the console.

^ time for a "face" lift.

Rename it "Wii 2" (people understand numbers, the bigger the nr the newer/more powerfull it is)

drop the gamepad from the consol, and sell it 100$ cheaper.

= success.

Basically Wii U isnt worth a 300$ price tag, it needs to be 199$ asap.

It probably outsells the XB1 too, UK excluded.

Wii U is an unwanted console, it's as simple as that. Why? Poor hardware, low innovation in games, though I believe Xeno will be interesting and might be one of the most innovative games of the generation, lack of support by the third parties and high price. Luckily they have a very loyal fanbase that will buy their games (and figurines) no matter what, but it's not surprising that people start to get bored if you only feed the usual stuff to them every generation.
Ofc this is also Wii U owners' fault. Nintendo tried to do something different for this console, but when Mario, Zelda, Kirby and so on sell so much better than Bayonetta and TW101 who cares.
Oh, and here in Europe the Wii U is non-existent. Nintendo are very popular here, as everywhere else, for their handheld, but as far as home consoles are concerned here is indeed sonyland, it's a social thing I guess, the words "playstation" and "videogames" have been used as synonyms for years.

<-- european, and owner of a wii u.
(own every nintendo consol thats made)

I dont know... I feel like it just isnt as appealing as the wii was.
I loved mario galaxy I & II, and Resident Evil 4 on the wii, the nunchuks where badass and fun to use.
Even just games that used stuff like the "shake", it made gameplay more fun.

Gamepad is a failure. Its not fun to use, its heavy (weighs 500 grams) vs ps4 dualshocks (200 grams).
Its not comfortable to use I feel, compaired to the pro controller.

No FiFa. No Cod. No Battlefield. No Pes. No love from Europeans.
