Point #1: Mature Rated Nintendo Games

Bayonetta 2 got probably as much hype and publicity as it is physically possible for a mature rated Nintendo console game to ever get in this day in age. It had the attention of a controversy in the form of the whole “multiplat turned exclusive”, which gained it much early attention. Bayonetta 2 had a built in, passionate fanbase thanks to the original which turned out in full force to spread the word on the internet. It had the backing of the majority of the Nintendo fanbase. And it still was not able to blow any sales charts away.

"It had the backing of the majority of the Nintendo fanbase."

I would say it didn't because, as you mentioned, it didn't sell all that well despite great critical acclaim. As for Devil's third, I see this game going the exact same route. While it looks a bit wacky and "different", it doesn't come off as a must-have. for any console (if it were on other consoles) We know little about it so i won't call anymore doom on it.

I will have to see how it looks when it comes out. It certainly got me curious when the first trailer launched but it didn't interest me enough however since they said that it looks much better than before, I would like to see some new screens! Rated M games on Nintendo platforms is certainly a welcome edition but they really need to market it (specially FF69)

I thought 'Bayonetta 2 had a built in, passionate fanbase thanks to the original which turned out in full force to spread the word on the internet' sounded kinda funny as well. Ya know, considering a lot of the existing Bayonetta fanbase were constantly calling on PS/Xbox ports. Not really turning out in full force for it

Yeah, honestly, I don't know where OP got that idea from. All of the attention for Bayonetta 2 came FROM the fact that it went Wii U exclusive (as Nintendo saved the game and all), not from a giant multitude of Nintendo fans wanting the game.

I think the better topic to cover first would be the importance of Devil's Third's E3 showing. Because if it gets a poor presentation or still looks rough as all heck, no one's getting on board the hype train.

There's a reason the game wasn't shown during the Digital Event last year.

Well if this is about diversifying the Wii U, then I guess you could say that Devil's Third is important, but other than that, not really...

Doubt this game will do well anyways

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

For the fourth point: I think that ship has sailed. If Devils Third shows some success or not, major 3rd-parties will not come to WiiU. For smaller projects it might have an effect though.
