I don't think changing memory cards to SD/micro would be the best solution incase current Vita owners would want to upgrade their Vita but will now need a different memory card.

The better solution is to just make the priority Vita memory cards the same price as SD cards. Price really seems to be the main issue for the memory card moreso then the actual type of memory card I believe.

PSP Go was the best system created, so if they can make a new Vita similar is design and features that would have me sold.

That would also be a pretty good solution too. As a current VIta owner I would definitely appreciate the cheaper memory instead of a total switch to SD. Unless of course they happen to slash the price AND switch to SD for the new models which would also be good.

R2 and L2 buttons would also be nice and a better battery life would also be nice additions. A man can dream at least.

It seems having the L2 & R2 buttons is one of the biggest feature request for handhelds but I can't see it being added unless the design of the handheld is going to be bulkier.  I'd love to see how one could incorporate that into a design without making the handheld much thicker.

There's this add-on I saw which looks comfortable on hand, but not in your pocket:

MOAR onboard memory. I'm quite happy with how piracy free the thing has been. But there's no reason they couldn't start pumping out units with 64 or 128gb of onboard memory.

Other than that the system is pretty much as good as were gonna get from a handheld. Maybe dedicated L2 and R2 to help with remote play?

To bring memory sticks to SD prices, Sony should get on its shoulders a tiny additional burden, as memory sticks have a much smaller market than SD, so even conceding all its IP to third parties for royalties comparable to those they pay for SD tech, their production cost would still remain a little bit higher (although, being tied mainly to the biggest and lowest tech parts, not the memory chips themselves, such additional costs would be significant only for the lowest capacity sticks and negligible for the larger ones). So if Sony will decide to lower the costs of memory expansions, it will have to evaluate whether it will be better to adopt two expansion slots, a single dual standard one or sticking to memory sticks (sorry for the awful pun  ), but doing all it can to lower their prices.

Vita hardware is flawless. A perfect design with a very good price. It all comes down to games that attract all publics attention.

3DS, Wii, PSP, Vita, PS2, PS3, PS4 & Steam.

Games, it needs games. That is all that needs to change. Games it doesn't have a good library of Vita titles.

Also marketing, they need to advertise the system. Not even better advertising. They need advertising. And games. Advertising and games.

It needs a change in the OS user interface. Make it like and android phone with the actual android OS+Vita Os in the system.

If people are going to buy this thing it needs to feel accessible, and not weird.

Also much better would be an Xperia V (ita),  it should be a bit thick, so that when you press a physical button in the phone the part in the back slides to the sides of the screen so it would offer actual buttons, and 2 analog sticks like the ones in the PSP, so it does no take to much space.  Ideally it should resemble the form of the VITA a lot.   And also the user interface should be like the one in android phones, but the actual OS a combination of android an vita.

I think we will, but I seriously don't understand why they will. The best change would be to allow the thing to accept SD cards so people don't have to pay $80 for $10 worth of memory.

You do realize that is virtually the only chance the Vita has off being profitable?

Another thing you are not going to get a quality 64 GB SD card for 10$... 20ish dollars if you get an "ok" one

You realize it would raise the price of the system by a huge amount if they did that? (onboard memory)

I agree with the L2 R2 bit

They bundle every system pretty much in Europe with a separate memory card.

I know itd add to manufacturing costs. But they already put 1gb onboard memory in now. Would it really add too much to the manufacturing costs vs the perceived value? Especially as it'd allow them to pre load software for the bundles.
