sony just needs to announce GT7 coming out december this year and BOOM

Yeah, but that will only really hype up Europe. Europe loves GT, but Sony need to think more about the grand scheme of things when dealing with the world. In truth I would wait another year to launch GT because GT opposed to Forza is pretty much considered to be the end all be all of racers since its packed with years of content. Forza is just a two year development cycle installment. This is the reason people will generally turn to a next gen GT, because of what they are used to when they get it. Look at how well GT 5 did. It takes time to allow audiences to consumer racers like the GT and anticipate another one. Thats ultimately one of the major psychologicial reasons why Forza has never been on GT's level. You're that GT is a threat if a next gen version is released though.

To be fair, looking at the charts in a lot of European countries, it's definitely a region they need to target more. There's a huge scope for increasing the userbase in a lot of European countries, and Gran Turismo is the kind of content that will drive those sales.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

This 'race' mentality throws up some hilarious conversation.

The PS5 Exists.

If true, a virtual tie for second place 20 million units behind the leader isn't being the "king".
The king last gen was Nintendo.

None of the 2 other systems are 20M behind the Wii. Also, kings of a generation don't die years before the next one starts.

That's in line with the wii, since it only started dying after 2011, and the next generation started in 2012.

The race doesn't stop when another gen starts.

Catching up to the winner years after the finish line isn't winning.

And not catching up to the winner at all (ps360 case) is even less winning.

The Wii U started to fall into a slump after the fourth year and they continued to slump into 2011 when they showed off the Wii U. It was front loaded hype controlled by limited amounts of constrained shipments for three years. Genius planning. It made it hard for people to get their hands on Wii's for years. That console was not aimed at the traditional crowd and those people did not return.

HUH??? The ps4 has something big it's called the PS4....Sony already has a good big slate of games and marketing deals with Batman, MGS, and rumoured battlefront....... It was focused on games day one and gamers responded.... Exclusives don;t sell as much hardware as people on game forums think. Bloodborne is next week......

constrained shipments for 3 years? lol, it sold out for 1 year and sold a lot for another 3 years.

"That console was not aimed at the traditional crowd and those people did not return." both affirmatives are wrong since wii was aimed at everyone, especially the tradicional crowd, wich did "return".

Sony has always been focused on the BIGGER picture, not MS look at sony's WW strategy versus MS....MS is dead World wide for a rreason.

When we MS ever king of th gaming market?

The only window I can think of them being in a dominant position was during the first 2 or 3 years of the 360s life. But they were still outsold by the Nintendo Wii and were plagued with the RROD. So although they had good sales and had some great games even then it wasn't a clear win.

They had a 2-year E3 dominance streak in 2008-2009, but haven't won a one of them since. Last year they were competitive, but ultimately outshined by Nintendo's gamer outreach. This could be their year, though, as the OP indicates.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
