For the past few years, I have started to enjoy scary movies quite a bit. The problem is that there isn't a lot of them. By scary movies, I don't mean gore or slasher movies like Saw or You're Next. Movies that I found scary are Insidious 1 & 2, The Conjuring, The Exorcism of Emily Rose and The Ring.

So, please, list some horror movies with supernatural elements.

The Cabin in the Wood
The Blair Witch Project

I'm in the same boat as you. Slasher/gore flicks just gross me out, they aren't scary. But once you see a lot, I find myself rarely getting a good scare these days.

If you haven't, which you probably have, try the original Exorcist.
Annabel was pretty decent.
Silent Hill was kind of scary the first time I saw it, and its soundtrack is great.

Poltergeist definitely fits your criteria.

Oculus (about a evil mirror)
Mirrors (also about evil mirrors) I couldnt go to the bathroom for a week after seeing this one, i was too afraid to face my mirrors
Sinister (about evil film reels!)
Dead Silence (about evil dolls/puppets) this one is a real underrated gem that no one has really seen

I have watched those and liked all of them. The Cabin in the Wood isn't a scary movie but it is just brilliant in what it does.

Watched it but I watched it very recently and didn't think it was all that great.

Watched all of these except Dead Silence and Mirrors so I will give those a shot. Oculus, I didn't really like. Sinister was pretty good.

The first one was quite good but I don't recall liking the second one.

I didn't realise this before this topic but I've watched lots of movies.

I would also recommend :

Jugface - not super scary but it's got enough creepiness, mystery and tension to recommend it.

SpellBound - this is a Korean horror rom com movie. It's got scary moments and some sweet ones. It's not something you see often and it's an overall good movie.
