I am not wrong. If you can prove to me how I am wrong I will concede. I have given you examples of definitions/games that show that I have a valid point. You have said that I am wrong because you want me to be wrong. The one example you gave (Devil May Cry) has a battle system that is almost exactly like Bloodborne, yet somehow Devil May Cry is a hack-and-slash game, but Bloodborne is not? Your logic doesn't add up, and I will not admit that I am wrong to "faulty" logic.

You are the only person I've ever come across in ALL the threads on ALL the forums that thinks this is a hack and slash. We're discussing this RPG elsewhere at this very moment. And here's a little something for you:

You clearly couldn't move along.

You just wanted to tell me I'm wrong because you think I'm wrong. You have given me no proof of anything.

Edit: And you still haven't explained how this gameplay is different from Devil May Cry which you cited as a hack-and-slash game. How is this gameplay different? Please tell me?

Okay, for a hack-and-slash kind of game this looks like it could be fun.

It's not a hack-n-slash game. Hack-n-slash is like Bayonetta, God of War, and Devil May Cry. This is a dungeon crawler.

The two are not mutually exclusive. This appears to be a dungeon crawler with hack-and-slash gameplay.

Wikipedia Video Game Genre List (yes, I know Wikipedia is not the end all of information.)

That shows that hack and slash is a genre. Dungeon crawlers aren't a genre. Dungeon crawling is a scenario.

Wikipedia Dungeon Crawl

There is nothing hack and slash with this game or souls,  play it like one you won't get past the tutorial.  Lol,  wiki description is wrong

If it's wrong, that's fine. What constitutes a hack-and-slash game? Devil May Cry is one. Bayonetta is one. How does Bloodborne differ from these two? That's what I'm trying to figure out, and what nobody seems to be able to tell me. The gameplay for Bloodborne looks nearly identical to these two games.

We don't need proof,  we played the souls games,  u obviously have not.  Dlc is fast paced hack and slash.  This is tactical,  slower,  requires stamina to do everything.  Two sword swings and your stamina is drained thus you need to retreat and regroup.  Maybe play games before saying misinformation

The combat us weighty,  realistic tactical,  nothing like a hack and slash game.  Play it like one and prepared to get destroyed.

You seriously want people to explain to you how this:

has different gameplay than this:

??

Edit: found a better video for DMC

DMC is a fast paced run around juggling enemies and doing insane crazy fast combo's.

Bloodborne is slower more methodical and you certainly aren't juggling enemies in the air to combo them. There's a massive difference in gameplay between those two games.

the difference is that you can't play the Souls games like a hack 'n slay, every stab you take at the enemy must be planned and come from the confidence you won't be caught with an enemy attack, because even the first enemies can easily kill you in a few hits

there is no long combo or juggling system and taking on more than 1 enemy at a time is either suicidal or you can do it because you already sunk 50+h into the game and know exactly what kind of attacks the enemies will use (usually the start of the animation already gives away which attack they are doing in Souls games)

now in Bloodborne getting hit doesn't seem as punishing, because you can regain that health by attacking (short window), but the devs said it will be just as challenging, so I doubt the core approach to the game has changed much

I think we got enough people ganging up on the guy now, if he doesn't understand the difference now only playing the games will teach him the difference.
