Compare gta4 ps3/360 to gta 5 on ps3/360. Compare bf3 on ps3 to the release day bf4 on ps4. Massive jumps. Uncharted 1 to uncharted 3 and now compared to the ps4 version. Massive jumps. Meanwhile pc still struggling to improve much on original crisis.

Considering the last two Crysis games were put onto the PS3 and 360 at the time, two weaker platforms the devs had to adhere to in order to sell the other two games because they thought they'd try at the console pie, they turned their back and it bit them in the ass.

Crysis as far as I can tell is old news, over and done with, just like Crash bandicoot and Medevil, older forgotten PS3/360 games that aren't continuing today (you know to "improve upon").

Still hjaven't properly explained with a metric ton of data as to why PC is magically weaker in every way, slower and non superior to a closed hardware console that's using dated hardware with a custom OS.

Also Star Citizen says hi if you've doubts of PC's terms of power, something "current gen" won't be running let alone be able to run.

You don't have to hide the fact that you're on board Sony's train and not with anyone else's, saying the PC is weaker than a closed off piece of hardware is pretty high elvels of ignorant, especially since the same platform happens to make your games in the first place, I see how you don't like ignorance on Sony's part but really we all use PC's for all sorts of things, you really shouldn't be ignorant of what they can accomplish and do.

Honestly, I think most of the naysayers were Nintendo fans after the horrid launch of the Wii-U. Also, no one was anticipating the next gen consoles to be as powerful as they are, i.e. they assumed Sony and MS were going to take the Nintendo route and make severely weak consoles in order to make up for costs, so Tablets and Phones would catch up much more quickly this time around. Thankfully, that didn't happen. The Wii-U just proved to be a commercial failure for it's own faults, and tablets won't be touching PS4/ XBone anytime soon.

Because Wii U, 3DS, and Vita had bad starts and made it look like the mobile market was taking over

This gen is selling more home consoles and more software than ever before, and I remember media saying console gaming were going to die, new consoles couldnt compete with tablets, smartphones, smart tvs and etc...

Those analysts were deadly wrong, só wrong that all should get fired. Gaming consoles are better than ever and handelhelds still big business.

Well, I wouldn't fire them, otherwise we should fire also 20% of these so called 'professional reviewers', Media, journalists, analysts, which write silly things all the time, looking for spots and clicks or simply corrupt... most of articles nowdays are trash, but how can you ban the authors of all this rubbish ? We should avoid it, no click on their links, no click on their articles, don't give them any credit. Just avoid.  Win the temptation to respond, it's only a waste of time, don't play their game, never. Don't post their bias and rubbish on forums. Easy.

Are you kidding? Former console generations outperformed any mainstream PC when they launched. Examples?

It took nearly 2 years from the Japan launch of the PS1 until the first good 3d-accelerator (3DFX Voodoo 1) arrived on PC. The $299 Xbox360 core outperformed any non-SLI PC when it launched in 2005.

The PS4 and XBO are good consoles, but many affordable PC-systems (without multiple GPUs) of 2013 and 2014 could keep up and even deliver better performance in most games.

People somehow failed to see that Smart Consoles were going to be massive. It is only going to get bigger from here as they become the main way to watch TV, On Demand, PPV, and DVR. Then they will become the main focus of web browsing, youtubing, facebooking, ect. Convenience always wins, and PS4 and XBO are the most convenient devices you can hook up to the TV. They are the to the TV, what Android and iOS are to the cell phones.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

The new consoles do a good job in these tasks (much better than the last generation), but they aren't the most convenient devices for these tasks.

My €50 Amazon Fire TV is more convenient for video streaming services than my PS4. Writing text (browsing, facebooking, etc.) is still more convenient on a cheap tablet or big smartphone many people already have than using the controller for text input.

So I don't see people who aren't into gaming buy a game console for this stuff.

You are missing my point.  The pc has stagnated big time in most genres.  Some like mmo's are still excelling but they're the exception. They took a slice of the console pie because thats where the money is at. Maybe it affected crysis 2 3 but no other shooter has significantly pushed the limit pass the 2007 pc game i mentioned.  Massive stagnation as I said. The reality is the law of diminishing returns is in full play. No more massive leaps for pc. It will chug along a little beyond consoles and nothing more.

Well, there's always going to be people who assume strange things, I guess..
