As you might know, the last few days have been let’s say “eventful”. I’m of course talking about the whole debate around Jizz_Beard_thePirate’s username.

I’ll be first to say that the most of the situation was handled poorly. From the initial inaction by the mod team when JBTP first signed up to the events that led to the changing of the name earlier this week. I was under the impression Wizz_Beard_thePirate was his chosen new name but I wasn’t in contact with Jizz directly which meant I didn’t have the full picture.

But, in a better late than never fashion, we’ve reached out to Jizz yesterday to get his thoughts on changing his username and to address his concerns about NSFW rules. After a few messages exchanged, we have come to an understanding:

Jizz has accepted to change his name (I’ll let him tell you what he chose) and we agreed to publicly guarantee him that we won’t be changing the NSFW rules. So here it is:

The content of Jizz’s posts are very much appreciated by the mod team, he is a great member of our community and we wouldn’t dream of making him change how he behaves on the forums. His colorful expressions like “faptastic” do not violate the NSFW rules and we do not plan to ever extend those rules to apply to post content. Furthermore, Jizz has managed the difficult task of keeping his popular NSFW anime thread within the boundaries of the NSFW rules without it degenerating into a porn thread so I know for a fact that he knows what content is acceptable and where it is acceptable.

As a final note, let me say to Jizz, that I am sorry he got caught up in this turmoil and that I hope he stays with us for years to come under his new identity.

I will say this:

JB said in the past that if he signed up, and the Mod Team told him to create a new account, he wouldn't have come back. So in that regard, our initial relapse led to us having an awesome member who brings a lot of positivity, energy, and charm to the site and our community. So I am grateful for that.

So again, from what I posted in the mod thread:

I firstly want to apologize to Jizz_Beard_thePirate for putting you at the center of this issue. It's not your fault for our relapse, and it's not fair for you that we've dragged your name at the front and center. All this discussion and debate has never been about your character of what you've brought to this site. I firmly believe that name or no name, you can thrive in this community and contribute to it in numerous ways (as you already have). So when we talk about a name, we're not talking about you as a person.

And I still stand by that. I know that you will continue to impact this site as you always have. It's your character and quality that truly adds to this community, and I know that will continue.

I just want to thank everyone for their support and thank the mods for listening to what I had to say and for understanding what my issues are and at least doing something about it. While I would still like my name back, the results of me leaving as well as people being upset and some even getting banned wasn't what I wanted so I think this way, its at least a step in the right direction where both parties can be happy in some form or another.

And of course, I will have this bookmarked but hopefully, I will never have to use it loll

This is a great result, really. Because he's an awesome user and I hope that we will have many, many more enjoyable memories with him on the site.
