I agree, I'm late to the party. I was too much stressed last year to pay attention, but I had made a bet with Lawlight about the shipments of the PS3 in 2013. He claimed the PS3 would surely ship stable, at least 11 million:

It's hard to get shipment data. But VGC has the PS3 at 8 million sold in 2013. Even with incredible overshipping and extreme bad tracking from VGCs side, 11 million are just impossible.

So I declare myself - somewhat late - as the winner of this bet. Any objections?

And yes, it was even in the mid of 2013 pretty clear that 11 million would be impossible. That's why I made the bet in the first place.

EDIT: Here's the collected and estimated shipment data for the PS3. Roughly 8m for calendar year 2013, so it fell 3m short of the goal.

Here's the deal: The mod team can change usernames now. If you refuse to concede that you lost the bet (and you did lose it without a shred of a doubt), I'll talk the mods into changing your name to Sore_Loser for the duration of a month. If you try to dodge that by creating another account, there will obviously be a punishment for your main account on top of the alt getting permabanned.

The post I linked to is a compilation of the numbers that were taken from financial reports, i.e. shipment numbers straight from Sony themselves.

Apparently nothing, as with 8 million sold we still need proof that Sony didn't ship 3 million more.
