I don't think anyone said you would "need" an i7. But if you have the money, they can perform a few percent better than the i5s in certain games.

And what's wrong with the second statement? There are worlds between the loading times of HDDs and SSDs.

I looked into this before I pieced together my new PC. I didn't find (and even online the general consensus is) the increase in price for an i7 anywhere near worth the small performance increase it provided.

As for SSD, it's a similar thing, yes loading times are faster, but that's not performance actually in game. Though I will be adding an SSD to my rig when Windows 10 releases to run the actual OS from.

Projection? For myself and other console gamers, we're perpetually being told how much better PC gaming is, and some of us would honestly like to give it a fair shake, using input from this community as a starting point. No need to get defensive or insult the PC gaming community by saying they don't buy games. =/

When building a pc you dont buy things just because you have the money. You try to spend less as posible to get the best performance. Also for hard drives I agree, thats why I said go with SSD.

As you can see in this thread there are a lot of people who spend a good amount more on their PC than "necessary". Everyone who bought an expensive PC acknowledged that you can get a decent PC for a lot less so I don't know where you're trying to go with this.

For your information, I and many other people do buy for performance and not for price/performance ratios. It doesn't matter how much more 5% more performance costs since it's the performance that counts and not the money.

You were 7 when I started posting here. Don't act like your an ace of spades just because the old guard doesn't post as much. Every single one of your threads is flamebait because you seem to like the negative attention. Well let me tell you something, any experienced poster will either a) ignore your posts and threads all together or b) refute your arguments because they make little to no sense. That is what I did in my post. And everyone thinks your threads suck. So it's not like I wasn't telling the truth.

I don't believe a thing like overkill exists when it comes to performance and gaming. Never heard anyone complaining about too much performance.

For someone who's been here that long you seem to have trouble memorizing the forum rules. That's already the second banworthy post in a row :)
