Not to mention combat that feels like slap fights with paper dolls. And I really liked Fallout 3 and New Vegas (especially the latter).

That was actually the Bethesda games I was playing! I agree on the combat, too, it's not unplayable but it feels odd.

As much as I've enjoyed Fallout 3 and New Vegas, I don't think Bethesda are actually particularly great developers.

Yeah, their QA definitely leaves much to be desired.

I liked Fallout 3 and New Vegas because they probably have the most satisfying Western post-apocalyptic settings overall. The combat just doesn't have any weight to it. It doesn't feel like you're connecting to the enemy in melee, and long-range combat is largely redeemed by the bullet-time mechanic (VATS).  I also wish to God Bethesda would hire better character designers.

Ah yeah, the character designs get really samey, too. It probably doesn't help that it felt like each game had a total of 8 voice actors covering several hundred characters. :/

If anything, I'd love to see some of these franchises handled by one of the EAD studios (not that it would ever happen). I can't picture Rockstar or Bethesda making a better Zelda, but I can certainly picture EAD making a better Fallout or GTA. Guess we'll see if that's true when the new Zelda comes out. If it delivers on its potential, it may just end up being a better Elder Scrolls.

It's a play on my real name, which is why I picked it. I didn't like the actual game. Oh, well.

Like I said, it did nail down setting pretty well, and that's something that they've always done right. In terms of actual game mechanics, it was also a Rockstar game: clunky combat, thumb-breaking controls, and missions that just weren't all that interesting. I want Rockstar to stay far, far away from Zelda.

Not to mention they remaster their games after a year of release. No thanks.

Admittedly, while I have 99 problems with the idea of Rockstar touching Zelda, that ain't one of them. Almost everybody pulls the crap of one-year-later remasters or "complete editions" with all the DLC they sold piecemeal for 15-20 bucks included.  Even Nintendo did "remasters" a few times in the past though they don't seem to make a regular habit of it. Wouldn't be surprised to see a Mario Kart 8 GOTY edition though.

Nintendo doesn't though, which is why Nintendo should stick to making LoZ.

Not saying they don't do remakes in general, but they have never put something on store shelves and then a YEAR LATER put the same game on store shelves again.

If that isn't 1 of your 99 problems with it, it should be your 100th.

Seriously, I don't really think that Nintendo would do that with Zelda, although I guess a "Master Quest/URA Zelda" DLC would be a possibility for them?

I don't really want anybody but Nintendo touching Zelda. Capcom did an okay job with portable Zeldas, I guess, but the GBC Zeldas were built off of Link's Awakening's engine that Nintendo did, and Nintendo apparently remained firmly in charge of the projects.

Nintendo wouldn't, but Rockstar has, that's why Nintendo should keep making their own Zelda titles.
