critical sucess

Well, I guess that makes sense.

I never like that term, honestly. But than again, saying Company Emotional Success doesn't ride off the tounge.

The game was made and people enjoy it. That's how Platinum measures success. Their business is structured in a way that total sales don't matter so much.

It was a critical success like many claim, which is great for has gamers on the short term since we get to play a gem (I'm getting it on for Xmas). But wasn't a comercial success (at least so far) which ain't good on the long term.

Consoles need these kind of great games not everyone likes in order for the console to have a much greater and better overall library. Even The Last Of Us, for instance, (although it was both critical and comercial success) albeit being one of the best games on PS3, it's not even on top 20 best sellers for PS3. But 20 years from now, when people look back at PS3 generation, these are the kind of games will remembered fondly.

Oh, I see.. Then Bayo 2 is definitely a big success! I haven't played it yet, but I'm sure that it's an awesome game!

Approaching half a mill, universal acclaim and a possible contender for GOTY. Yeah, I'd say it was a success. Imagine how much more successful it could have been across all consoles.
